Question about meds for urgency and frequency

Hello, I'm going back to the Dr. tommorrow and wondering if anyone could recommend medicine for urgency and frequency? I've tried Ditropan XL and Detrol LA. They only work a little bit and I was on both for 5 months. My Dr. kept on upping the dosage and I got really dehydrated. That's when he decided to do tests for IC and of course that's what I have. :dogrun: I'm taking Elimiron now and have been on it for only 6 weeks.(sigh!!!) My Dr. is puzzeled and doesn't seem to know which way to go next. Any suggestions will be greatly apprieciated. Thank you!

I was on Vioxx and Pyridium Plus until recently. They both helped with the pain, urgency & frequency. I think when my bladder was relaxed and not in a spasm that the urgency and frequency just followed suit.

I take an antispasmodic when I'm having problems with frequency. The one I take is hyoscyamine.

I've taken both detrol and ditropan. I think ditropan works better for me. However, I take them in addition to Elavil and Atarax. I too did not feel total relief all the time just from the detrol an ditropan. The combination of meds has helped. I also use Prelief often. I hope that helps!

May you find some relief soon!
