    Why is there no urine coming out in my foley?

    For those who have used a foley and have some experience... I have a question

    I had previously used a clear 12F foley. What a nightmare!! No urine came out and I used 3 new ones. I know I got in it in the right place.. I did however, attach the drainage leg bag before inserting...is that where I went wrong? I am wondering if I was supposed to drain first?

    [SIZE="1"]I pee (a teaspoon and drops) on average 60 times per day (still). Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (urinary retention due to a botched urological surgery) and chronic pelvic pain 32 years.

    Yes you may need to drain it bit first, at the very least a few drops . I think if you don't it can create a vacuum so nothing will come out.
