    Water PH list???

    Hello,

I used to come to your board some time ago and while I was here, I saw a post that listed a lot of different brands of water and if they were good or bad (ph wise). I've been drinking aquafina and noticing more cystitis symptoms.

Does anyone remember this list? I did a search and could only find a couple of them that showed food/water but not this exact one I'm remembering. It wasn't a website, just a member who posted the information for us, listing the brands of bottled waters. Ring any bells? It was probably 1/2 a year or so ago that I was last on these boards and I think the post was older than that.

If anyone can find it or remembers it, I would so appreciate it!!!!!!

    Thanks for your time,

    Sadbladder

If you have a very sick child, it could be stress causing your flare.

I hope he's better by now.

    Warm hugs,
    Donna

Thanks Donna for your concern!! The one boy is feeling better today but now the other one has it. Guess it's going to be another long, sleepless night! We do have a lot going on over here....We just moved into a new house, my husband started with a different company, I had a hysterectomy w/ A & P repairs on May 19th and now the boys are sick, which I do not want to catch!

I wanted to check on this board to see if there is a hysterectomy & IC section. I was hoping that after my surgery, my bladder would feel so much better. But instead it's the usual bladder infection feeling, which I don't think I have cuz I have no fever. I was dx in 2002 with mild cystitis so I was hoping it was mainly from things being out of place. I'll have to talk to my Dr at my follow up.

I wanted to ask you guys if you think Citrucel or generic stool softners can cause bladder irritation? I'm taking those to keep stools soft along w/ fruits & vegs, which all don't seem to be working since the last 2 bm's hurt pretty bad. I am still taking pain meds tho & maybe I could get off them if my bladder wasn't giving me so much grief. Maybe the fruits are bothering me....but what does a person w/ IC do if they don't want to be constipated???

Thanks for your continued help!!! Talk to you later.

    Well, on the constipation thing...

Colace is what my urologist suggests every time I walk in the door. (And I never ask! I guess it's such a common problem for us with our meds that he just covers the base by offering...) If you work, you might want to try it out & maybe even only a half dose on a Friday afternoon, it can be a bit startling when it starts to work a day or two after taking it. I've heard that Citrusel can be a problem for some patients and I did notice on the Metamusil wafer box that those include citric acid, very bad for bladders.

Fresh pears and sufficient water help a lot. And if you can tolerate raisins, toss some in your cereal. (I like Kashi-7-in-the-morning cereal -super high fiber, kind of like GRAPENUTS without chemical preservatives). Lots of zucchini, carrots, steamed.

You said you're not sure if fruits are triggering your IC., I think pears and dates (careful to check the dates have no sulfites) are the ones generally best tolerated by IC patients...

    Hope you feel better soon!
    Kadi

I am glad I could help you!
I had a hysterectomy in January and have found my IC is slightly worse and I am very gassy.....which doesn't help anything. Constipation isn't my problem usually....and fiber is my enemy theese days but if I can help you in any way just let me know ok?

It may not be a bad idea to have a hysterectomy section to this board but I know most questions like that have been in the Other Related Conditions section.

I hope things seddle down and improve for you. I hope your children get better and I will say a prayer for you all.

    Best Wishes
    Faith, Hope, and Love,
    Katrina
