Looking for a Urologist near Albany or Pittsfield.
Hi, all.
I'm a 54 year old man who has done the deal and run through four urologists in the Hudson/Albany area of New York. The first three had no experience with IC so I served as their guinea pig, the fourth did the surgical Interstim implant before even mentioning instillations as something to try, did no followup after my recent Botox injections, and neglected to mention the fair possibility that I would need to self-catheterize or go to the ER after the injections.
So, I'm looking. Any suggestions would be very, very welcome.
I don't know what's left to try. My big problem is with urgency, from 30 to 60 times a day. Elmiron and diet have largely eliminated the pain emanating from my bladder lining. I've heard that internal trigger point work might help me, but I haven't been able to find a physical therapist with any experience at that with men.

If you scroll to the top of this page and click on "Professionals" you may find a physician and/or physical therapist in your area who has been recommended by another IC patient.

I am also on the search for a urologist. I just moved here to Cincy and honestly I haven't even discovered where the closest mall is, let alone urology center. Can someone give me some advice? I did an internet search, hoping to turn something up and I found this website that shows a list of cincinnati urologist companies but I would like a first hand review of some of them as well. If you have any experience with any, please let me know asap!

bearyba, if you go to http://www.ic-network.com/md/listings/Ohio.html you'll find some professionals listed there. There are some support groups in Ohio --- they can be an excellent help in finding doctors.
Warm welcoming hugs,
