    I had surgery

Well, I've been saying that I had a lot of pain and suspected that my endo had come back. Two weeks ago on a Tues, I woke up with a stabbing pain in my right groin area. I thought blood clot first since I'm on coumadin. I went to the ER...it wasn't a blood clot or hernia. The ER doctor and my hemotologist thought that it might be the endo since the pain had stopped radiating down my leg and was in my right lower quadrant. I wasn't running a fever and my white blood cell count was normal, so they didn't think it was appendicitis. By the next Sunday, I was throwing up from the vicodin they gave me for pain. I had an appointment for my OB/GYN. I went back to the ER for a low fever of 99 and the nausea. They did blood cultures, but everything was normal. They did give me nausea medication. The vicodin was just not agreeing with me. On Wed. I saw the OB/GYN who said because of my history I needed the best endometriosis doctor in Illinois, so he gave me a name. I called and THEY HAD AN OPENING THE NEXT DAY!!!!

So, I went for an evening appointment. They did an ultrasound. No visible cysts, but my right ovary didn't move when she poked it. So the surgeon suspected scar tissue. He suggested a laparascopy with pain mapping and perhaps removing the tube and ovary. He said he would do it the following Wed...which was yesterday.

I don't remember the pain mapping part at all. The nurse said that nothing hurt until he touched my ovary. I said "OW, that hurts. Get that out of there." He removed the ovary and tube. It was gray and had dark gray knots visible on the inside of it bulging out. It didn't look like the photo of a normal ovary I saw on the internet. I had no endometriosis anywhere (Yea!) and my uterus looked good. (My birth mother died of uterine cancer at 42.) I feel great. I'm sore and swollen, but I can already tell that that old pain is gone. I'm so happy.
