Elmiron and eye problems??????
HEY.,... was wondering if anyone else has had eye problems while taking elmiron..?? I have been taking it for three months and now my vision is blurry and i cannot focus as well.........its weird.... but it just started about four days ago.
My sinus's are really stopped up and i am dizzy as well....it may be just from the sinus pressure.......its kinda scaring me so i wanted to check and see if anyone else had any eye problems.
email me gloriabono@yahoo.com
thanks

Elmiron made my eyes very dry....which made wearing contacts quite difficult. My eye doc was not surprised I couldn't wear contacts anymore and has offered a solution to help moisten them.
My allergies have been worse since IC was worse....seems to be commone for many of us.
I did not get dizzy on elmiron....if you are dizzy often you should definatly see a doctor to be sure what the cause is.
If you visian is blurred that can cause dizziness....but there may be symple fix with seeing the eye doctor.....but you need to be sure.
I hope you feel better soon.
To me the benefits of elmiron far outway the problems...but than I didn't have many problems...just a few.

That's funny you should mention that! My eyes have been bugging me for the past week-I kept thinking that it was my contact that was fuzzy, but at times I can see fine and then it blurs. I agree with the dry eye symtpoms too-I am constantly itching my eyes now. Katrina-what solution did he give you to try?

Thanks for replying................my allergies are the worst they have ever been right now .......and my sinus's are literally so stopped up right above my eyes........i didnt get that way until a few days ago.......but i also stopped taking my nose spray because i couldnt afford to take it and the elmiron too.........but i am gonna go to my regular doctor and see what he says about it.......my uro said check with him about maybe changing my nose spray , she said to stick with the allegra........and it would possibly go away once i went back on the nose spray........but i havent had a lot of problems with the elmiron and its been 3 months taking it......i get queasy sometimes but its not bad.........so i figure i would be having side effects earlier from that if it was the elmiron......my head is so stopped up i just feel like its coming from that.......but just to be sure and safe i am going to check with my doctor and if it doesnt go away then i will head off to my eye doctor.......thanks for caring and i will let you know how it goes.........
take care

Have any of you having allergy problems tried or discussed the possibility of trying Hydroxyzine with your Dr.? Not only is it an antihistamine that may help with the allergies, it may also help your bladder. I have been on it for almost 2 years now and it has been a great help to me. That along with adding uncooked, unfiltered, local honey that I take a couple teaspoons a day and more if the allergies really start bugging me. My allergies have really been better so far this year. Good luck everyone.

It's not unusual for allergy medications to temporarily effect our eyesight. I do have a suggestion for you --- and that is to telephone your doctor and try a different remedy. When I get a new prescription, I usually ask the pharmacist to only fill a few day supply. That way I'm not stuck with a bunch of pills I can't take. Then if the med seems to be okay for me, I go back and pick up the rest of the prescription.
I do think it would be a good idea to be in contact with your allergist again sooner than four weeks.

I went to my family doctor yesterday and he says i have a sinus infection that is causing my problem right now .......he said if it wasnt better in 2 or 3 weeks he was going to exray my sinus's and see if i needed to have them cleaned out.........I am taking an antibiotic right now.........and i have went back on the nose spray. He thinks me being off it for 2 and half months has also contributed to my major allegry attack this past month.......so I was just tested about three or four years ago and he said he didnt feel like there was a need to do it again..........that it probably hadn't changed that much..........So i am going to give it a whirl and see what happens..........i swear i cannot win for losing most days.......between my bladder , my allergies and my irritible bowel.........arrrrrgggghhhhh!!!!! I think if i don't get relief soon i am gonna lose whats left of my sanity.......literally..........

I have really bad sinus problems and am going to the doctor tomarrow i know that he will tell me that I have a sinus infection and put me on a round of antibotic but it seems that they never work cause i will feel this way in no time again. Should I be taking something everyday for allergies it seems the more that I read alot of people with IC have sinus problems, does anyone know why. I am not on any other meds at the moment I just finished 9 instillations and just take valuim for physical therapy. But the sinus pressure is knocking me out, I had to leave work today and i felt stupid cause everyone is sick. No one really understands what I am going through there. I say that my stomach hurts and they just think that it is a everyday stomachache or that I was up since 4 I dont want anyone to feel sorry for me at work but when I need to go home dont talk about me behind my back people actually have said that Ive made up my sickness. UGH. I blow it off but then when I dont come in or have to leave work i just feel upset cause I know people are talking about me. I know that I have bigger things to deal with right now but its nice to vent.
