I want to let everyone know I'm feeling fine

I've had no flare's and not much frequency today, I did alittle fast today all I did was drink water and ate veggies. Alove vera helps with the flares alittle but not very much, I know when I eat the wrong foods I get a big flare. I think I will go raw for now on, Veggies don't seem to bother me at all. I have been reading about foods that heals.

I speak from my own experience, not promoting medical advice etc. Since adding raw foods bit by bit to what I am eating I notice it helps the IC. I have flares, ups and downs etc. but it is better than when I was eating meat and cooked foods, especially meat and higher protein. I eat a lot of raw food now. Here is a URL about eating raw foods. Everyone is different and you will find different ideas there but all and all I find it helpful. IC is a stubborn disease. I believe with God all things are possible.

New to IC and have questions

Hi, I'm new to IC and have not been fully diagnosed yet and do not have it full blown. I have noticed that diet plays a big role in IC. I have just begun sticking strictly to the IC diet. Sometimes though it seems like I get flares and frequency when I stick to the IC diet but I do not know why.
I read that IC can be tied to allergies to foods, such as wheat or gluten products. I cut that out of the diet and my symptoms have died down some. I plan on sticking to that and then continuing that and hope it works and then I can introduce other foods into my diet that cause flares such as apples.
I also take aloe vera in the morning and night. Beta Carotine (supposed to build up the linning) and vitamine E in the morning. Herbal remedies called Immuity plus and UTI-Clear 3x/day. I am leery about taking meds.
I am hoping that since it was caught early that these things will help and I will go in remission (this might be wishful thinking).

I am wondering how women take birth control pills and how long they have been on them in conjuction with the IC?

    Any suggestions? Feedback?

Hi... I've been on BC pills for 12 years almost continuously. I was diagnosed with IC just 3 months ago...

*Diagnosed with severe IC in 2004
*Also diagnosed with PFD, fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain, IBS, migraines, allergies/asthma, dermatographism
*Kept trying a million different treatments for all these things until I found what works, and I am doing okay these days with the help of a cocktail of medications and the InterStim, which was first placed in 2007. [I have had 2 revisions - one in 2010 when my battery died and had to be replaced, and one complete replacement (lead and generator) in 2012 after a fall on my stairs caused my lead to move.]
*Current meds include Atarax (50mg at night), Lyrica (150mg twice a day), Xanax (0.5mg at night and as needed), Zanaflex (4mg at night), hydrocodone (10/325, every 6 hours as needed), Advair, Nasonex, Singulair (10mg at night), oral contraceptives, home instills containing Elmiron and Marcaine (as often as I need to do them).

    Thanks for replying,
I have been on Birth control for 6 years. One of the pills was Yasmine and I was taking it continuously w/o the sugar pill week break. I noticed that symptoms really began when I was on that sort of birth control. But I do not know if it is just a coincidence. Now i have been switched to Ortho Novum and do take the week long break in between pills. I wonder if IC is partly due to birth control pills and taking them for too long.

That's so great that you have the willpower to stick to the raw veggies, sleepy! I don't think I could.

I am also having good results with vegetables. They keep the urine alkaline and make me much more comfortable. I check urine pH too. I am loving the veggies, cooked and raw. The only bad thing for me is that I am losing to much weight.
