    I don't know where to put this.Need help w/sunscreen

I never had allergies, now I'm allergic to sunscreen. The active ingredients in it.My husband and I are going on our honeymoon for 2 1/2 weeks.I take Amitriptyline
which causes burning.I also get over heated when I'm dressed to warm...ie long sleeves shirts.Any ideas out there?I never had to deal with the sun like this before.

Thanks so much for any and all help
    Hugs

I'm sorry you haven't received any posts on your question. I imagine that most people are like me,...not sure what to say or suggest on this!

To be honest, outside of wearing very thin light colored long sleeves the only thing I can come up with is carrying an umbrella.

I sure wish I had this problem! I hear there's a sun out there but we haven't seen it in weeks! These 50 degree days and covering my plants at night so they don't freeze is getting old. It's almost June for Cripes sake!

Have a great time on your honeymoon!

Yep, we had that same kind of spring! Our winter was unusually warm and by the end of March we were having May weather. Plants started to come up, -but they shouldn't have! Now it's May and we're having our March weather. Crazy!

I saw on the weather how warm it is over your way. That must feel nice!

I couldn't respond to this because from April till about October its in the high 90's and too hot to go outside. Just stepping out the door in the morning to go to work (leave at 7:00am) its hot; when I leave work its after 4:30 and hotter still. Haven't been to the beach in ages as I really don't have time to do so.

    Hope you enjoy your honeymoon.

My last freeze here is typically during the first week in June, so hopefully I'm in the clear now.

    Natural Sunscreens

Are you allergic to chemical sunscreens? Have you tried physical (natural) sunscreens with just titanium dioxide and zinc? That may be better for you. Also try a nice big sun hat.

I've found that baby sunscreens work well for me & don't seem to cause the acne breakouts or itching that some of the regular ones do. I like the 60+ Neutrogena baby one the best.

I'm very fair skinned & also on Elavil which makes me especially vulnerable to sunburn, so I always wear a hat, sunglasses & sunblock when I go out even for a short walk.

I hope that helps a little,
    Kadi
