    Question Prelief Confusion

I'm a bit confused about the use of Prelief. My PA asked if I was still taking my Prevacid and when I said yes (for acid reflux) she said great. Then later when we got more into the IC treatment she instructed me to take Prelief every time before I eat or drink anything other than water without fail. I didn't think to ask if I'm still supposed to take the Prevacid. The bottle says not to take with other antacids. Anyone have any advice?

    Thank you,
    Ginger

I suggest you give her a call and ask. I think if she meant you to stop the prevacid, she would have said so, but to be absolutely sure, a telephone call would be good.

Doctor said to continue with the Prevacid (1xday) as well as Prelief before eating or drinking anything other than water. Thanks for the advice Donna.

    Smile Prelief

    Hi,
Well they say the prelief takes the acid out of the food and not out of your system itself i.e not from your stomach. I take prilosec and take prelief with no concern ,and actually find I don,t need the prilosec as much as I used to.

I asked CVS and they didn't have it on the shelf, but the pharmacy ordered it for me. It was there the next day. Maybe yours will do it too. My doctor wanted $11 something for 20 tablets....I got 120 at CVS for $11.15. Don't know if it's less expensive other places.

You can also order it here on the site.

    Good luck.

    Publix

I actually found Prelief in Publix. Thats the only place I've been able to find it, with the other antiacids. I always forget to take it, and pay for it later.

If you go to the Prelief web site you can find out if stores in your area carry it. That's how I found it several years ago.

At the Walgreen's near me, it is about 11$ for a bottle of 60 tablets.
As was mentioned earlier, you could talk to the head pahramcist or store manager & see if they couldn't order it/ start carrying/ selling it.

I want to say that it might be there, but it's hard to find (I never knew how many acid reducer product there are, until I had to start buying stuff from that section! and they all start looking alike sometimes!!(lol))...but I presume you've asked store employees if they sell it (If I remember right, I had to ask for help finding it the first couple times I bought it (this was at 2 different Walgreen's)). I only have to buy it about once every 6 weeks or so...sometimes the only way I can find it is because I've seen the bottle (& packaging) enough that I know what I'm looking for.

You can also order it here from the ICN shop.

don't know if I have IC or PFD, but suspect so. Have had minor frequency & urgency my whole life. Have had abdominal pain at least 2-3 years. been tested 4 times for UTI, only once was positive.
    Currently in process of diagnosis...

    I take:
150 mg levothyroxine daily (for hypo)
    Prelief as needed.
colace/ Miralax as perscribed by my Dr (pretty much daily) for chronic constipation...
IC diet as much as possible...

My sweetheart/ hubby was born with Spastic Cerebral Palsy. As a result, he is legally blind, has a minor speech impairment, & uses a wheelchair. And he's one of the brightest people I know. He has also had back problems since May 2007.

The Costco pharmacist special ordered it for me at $7.77 a bottle. That was a long time ago, so not sure if they still do that.
