    Urinary Pain

I'm a guy, anyways my ONLY symptoms have been urinary pain. However if I drink something like Cranberry tea then it will definitely show full IC flare. Anyways I'm just here whining, this sucks alot. I had originally had the disease since high school (1995-1999) but it was very minor until around 2008 it began to really get noticeable. Some damn alcoholic lagar set it off, I'd had ale up till then just fine It's ok now but not gone, and it's made worse since I'm a man with a longer urinary tract (pity me).

Haven't posted in awhile, just thought I'd say hi.

Also I am trying Cystoprotek, who knows maybe it helps maybe not, I will probably keep taking it so IC doesn't get worse though (or if it does at least I know I tried something). Read my older posts to find out what I think of doctors.......

IMO IC is nothing more than some unknown virus or pathogen these losers can't identify, it's really sad :|

I think you could be right about IC being an unidentified pathogen. I battle staph and strep and I have to tell Drs to test for it or they never find it.

Who knows, you could be right. We have to remember that bacteria, viruses, and yeast are fairly "new" discoveries in the history of man. As we get better and better scientific equipment, who knows, we might find something. I looked up bacteria the other day and stumbled across the Wikipedia article that talked about this history of bacteria discovery, etc...it reminded me that most of medical science is fairly new. We will likely learn more as time goes on....

Nevertheless, it is frustrating to have this disease. It can be unpredictable and it is very hard to explain. Try going out in public and telling the person sitting next to you in the diner that you have this! We can talk about diabetes, breast cancer, and colonoscopies at the dinner table, but for some reason the bladder, penis, and vagina are still 'potty talk' in most circles.

Sending virtual hugs............I hope you feel better soon....
    Hugs, Julie B

    comparison to stomach ulcers.............

.....and think about it............it was only a few years ago that they found the bacteria that seemed to cause stomach ulcers..................who would have thought that all those years my mom suffered and had surgery after surgery might have been more easily treated with the protocol antibiotics they use today.....so who knows.............
