flakes - Candida?

Hi all I have been managing my bladder mainly with diet and Ami at night but I continue to have flakes in my urine all the time. I had a cysto and uronamics (?) on this day I didnt have the flakes! But the cysto said I had denudation of the bladder and no cancer cells etc. I have seen a Professor of Urology twice and he is confused about the flakes but doesnt have an answer. He wnated me check for Maloplakia but thats a red herring I am sure and a very expensive CT scan to disprove it so I dont want to be distracted by this. I read something about Candida in the bladder and just wondered if this was what was going on for me. Anyone else got these symptoms many thanks Mazzie x

quite a few people post about seeing flake in their urine I think it is just part of IC for me. I have had the flafes tested and i don't remeber what it was but it was nothing of concern. You ask you dr. to test the flakes. I have had enough to plug up the strainer when straining my urine for kidney stones that is when I first noticed it but I have had it alot with stones.

I don't have as many "symptoms" as ICers, and I have never had the flakes. I know that some ICers have had them. Maybe its part of the GAG layer in our bladders.

It's funny that you mentioned flakes. I am new to this disease so I check my pee all the time and I've seen these tiny tiny tiny little things in my urine that looks like flakes but was like ehhhhh whatever!!!!!!!!!

so I guess it's just part of the IC

I always though it was just the layers of the lining shedded off?

I have flakes in my urine occasionally. I have always heard it can be part of the bladder lining be shedded. If it is persistent or gets worse it wouldn't hurt to tell you uro about it.

I had to give a sample at the ER yesterday it was full of flacks, turns out my UTI changed to a kidney infection. NOt fun, but I am feeling somewhat better, but it has been a tuff 3weeks. I have been on pill ab's and IV ab's.

I go back to my dr. on monday to have it checked again.
