over the counter/alternative menstrual cramp relief?

I hope I posed this question in the right category.

I'm not yet diagnosed(cystoscopy scheduled on Nov. 2nd) and my urologist is out of town on vacation this week. I just started my menstrual cycle today and am a loss for what to take for the cramping. Pre-suspicion of IC, I would normally take 2 ibuprofen and 2 Pamprin. Since the Pamprin has a diuretic in it that sounds like a no-no and have also heard that ibuprofen can further irritate my bladder. Is there anything I can take over the counter to help the pain go away(usually only lasts for the 1st 48hours)?
    Thanks for any imput.

It depends on how sensitive you are (if at all) to NSAIDs. My period relief regimen is three Aleve every 6-8 hours. Works like a charm!

Stick on heating pads!!! I unfortunately can't tolerate any pain relievers except for Darvocet (I don't know why Tylenol isn't ok for me since Darvocet has Tylenol in it, but I flare every time from Tylenol)...
