    this so SUCKS

    Hi all

Not to be a whiner but I hurt so damn bad right now I can hardly sit up. I've had such good days, interspersed by rotten ones. I'm over a week fighting this pain and I went to the coast yesterday and slogged through the sand wiht my family because I really wanted to go and have felt so sorry that I've missed all the fun stuff with them. So, I hurt big time today...My Pt wouldn't even touch me cause I looked terrible..actually, she gave me gentle massage and said she wouldn't charge me.

I called the pain clinic today and thankfully they are seeing me tomorrow. I just hope to whomever that this doc can help me NOW. Nothing works for me in pain relief, that's legal. I'm doing everything I can.... And I'm just getting that stupid depressed nothing is going to change feeling again. I know, intellectually, that I am going to be ok eventually but my soul even is hurting tonight. I need some help, cause I just can't take it anymore!!!!! I want to just curl into a ball, and make the world go AWAY.

Sorry to be such a whiner. I hurt, and I want to go somewhere where all is fluffy and soft....(ok...my bed will have to do)

I am sorry to hear your not feeling well. I feel the pain right with you. Sometimes it feels better to just curl up in a ball and cry to let it out. It might make you feel better. Try to relax and use a heating pad and some pain meds for the mean time. Hope the apt. goes well tomorrow. I will keep you in my prayers.

I went into the pain doc and after an hour conversation with my husband and him, the doc wants to go forward with implanting an interstim. Just him describing the procedure made me go white and sweat. (he remembers how awful I was during the temp. nerve block we did last month) He wanted to burn those nerves off, but apparently, my nerve bundle is huge so he can't without damaging other stuff. So, I told him I thought the interstim was for frequency and urgency. (which is a prob for me but not entirely awful) He said that was true, FDA approval was only for that but, had I had contact with folks who managed to get some pain relief. I told him yes, through this board.

Anyway, he won't do anything until my psychologist says I'm ready. (I've got some past trauma involving a needle in my back)His description of the procedure just for the temp. implant made me go white and sweat. Going through the sacral nerve space, and zapping until he finds the "sweet spot" (what ever that means.) Then the further description of the subsequent surgery should the temp. work. Crap. I don't like it.

I'll talk to you later and thanks for the positive thoughts.

Tracey, I feel for you. I understand, and can relate to your pain. ( I'm sure everyone here can) I hope you've found some relief by now. I get through the day on heat. I put on a Therma Care heat patch, and it makes things tolerable. I wear the belt. If my pain is mostly in my back, I put it on my back. If I'm feeling pain in the tummy area, I turn it around and wear it backwards. I don't think anything has helped me as much as the heat. Of course, it does nothing for frequency and urgency!

Yeah..my oldest daughter was introduced to the joys of "womanhood" last year...I won't share the secret of the therma patches...(cold of me but I give her my heating pad) those therma patches are so darn expensive. Her cramps get so obnoxious that she has to stay down and rest anyway. I'm starting to think that she's definately her mother's daughter. Mine were the same way as a teen until my 20's..then I had a nice reprieve till my 30's. Then it got AWFUL...so everything came out at 35 (except one ovary that blew up last year and had to be removed 2 years after the hysterectomy...Yipes..) Glad I'd come to grip with no more kids at 35 (Ihad already had my tubes tied) because that would've been a tough call with my age. My second child was a very difficult pregnancy and my doc recommended no more kids, so the tubal a year later. Ugh....that was hard, because I knew then no more children so the hysterectomy seemed an easy call. (no more periods, no more cramps....HA!) Jokes on me, so many damn surgeries I've got this stupid IC.

    Thanks..Tracey

sending you hugs and prayers i know you have had it so hard lately.
i have already had the talk with my daughter about woman hood I pray she doesnt get it as bad as i have had it the last four years.
when i was a teenager it didn't bother me much i had it light for three days then it was over until i got preg with my first child and lost it. then i had it for seven days then i got preg with my son Brandon after he was born it went back down to five days then my other two it has always been five days since then but since my last it has been very painful.
I do believe all my bladder surgery and real uti is what gave me IC.

Yeah Dixie...gotta agree..one of the potential problems they should discuss with you with abdominal surgery is the possibility of IC. Of course, I prob would've been "what the hell is that?" and done it anyway. yes..my last surgery (a year ago) to remove the ovary and some adhesions was awful...especially for my doc. She opened me on my hysto scar and found everything covered in old blood (from numerous cyst breakages) which she called "glue" then all my internal stuff that was left (the ovary, vagina, bladder, bowel, ureters and urethra) were so stuck together that it took her three hours to Untangle me. (My 3 inch hysto scar now went from hip to hip because she had to have her assistant's hands in there to help as well) unfortunately, my bladder and uerthra were so stuck to my vaginal wall that it took her forever to take them apart (adhesions) and I think thats where my injury came in. However, I also have a very high number of Mast cells, so I think maybe I've had this for longer...I've always had to pee..used to be a big joke in high school and college. I'm so allergic to stuff it'sno surprise. So, the pain just had to come after enough trauma happened to an already fragile bladder. I vaguely remember after my hysto having to see a uro (4 years ago) because of bladder pain and frequency. He was a real turd (as I recall) and told me just to wait it out for a while, if it continued, he'd do a cysto. (that sounded horrible to me) It settled down after a month, back to it's usual frequency so I didn't think anything further about it until last year when all this hit.

Anyway...fun times...I'm still hurting...this flare is not going away and I don't get it....As soon as my meds wear off, I'm really awful.

    Thanks all...Td
