    Odd stuff floating in urine

Has anyone seen stuff that looks like pieces of tissue or dandruff flakes floating in their urine? They look kind of opaque, are not puss. I have no infection and my urine is crystal clear with these weird little things floating in it. I dont know if epithelial cells can be seen with the naked eye or not? Not in a significant flare, just a little urgency. Any ideas anybody?

I think everyone has them. But when we feel good we don't pay any attention to our urine.

    Funny

LeLE thanks for the links, will check them out.
Donna-thats funny and so true. When we feel good we sure arent examining our urine. Also if I am checking my urine, I use Bayer Urosticks 10 the same thing the doctors office uses, its usually gathered in a white plastic cup. This time I peed in a glass and held it up to the light. Thats when I saw what looked to me like an awful lot of debrie, otherwise my urine was crystal clear and checked normal.
Thanks everyone, I should not be looking for trouble.

    Most floaters OK

Well, I have been zealously studying urine debrie for the last few days and here is what I found out: Most debrie is of no clinical significance, in particulair the dandruf looking flakes. The little spiral types come from the kidney, and the flat ones are fat globules. However, there are rectangular ones that are very large and can be clumped white or red cells, and other shapes that come from the kidneys that can indicate a problem in certain areas. Also urine has a lot of different types of crystals.
So, I wonder why Urologists dont take a closer look at the debrie because it has a lot of information in it regarding which part of the kidneys are having a little problem.

    Sami,
that is very interesting what you found out about floaters! I was giving a urine sample when I first saw the floaters. I almost poured it out because I thought that maybe the sample was contaminated. I turned it in and never heard anything about it other than my sample was normal.
Great point about Urologists not being more observant to the shape of the floater!
