Myofascial release for pelvic painAdvertisement :
I hate to sound dumb, but what is involved in myofascial release therapy for pelvic pain/pelvic muscles? How would I find a PT that does this?
Is there anything/exercises that I can do on my own?

I had no idea what it was either until I went to a physical therapist for it. My IC specialist referred me to a place after she diagnosed me w/ PFD. I found out that I had to go to a specially trained physical therapist. My therapist presses on different spots on my lower back, pelvis, & also internally vaginally, on the tight places until she "feels" the muscle relax. She stretches me in different positions, & has given me a series of stretches I do at home tailored to my condition. So I would never tell anyone what exercises to do.
I know there are other ladies here who can explain this better. I was afraid to go at first, but after reading about their success, it gave me courage. Were you diagnosed w/ PFD by your dr.? Do they know of a physical therapist in your area?
