What do you think, Hysterectomy?

Hello my Sixties Sisters. My Daughter believes my fibroids are pushing against my bladder and causing the flare I am experiencing this week. She wants me to ask our Doctor about having a hysterectomy ASAP. I am asking you what your opinion is and what experience you may have had with this procedure? Do you think it might help my IC? My OBGYN took a look at my uterus two years ago when he did a HYDRO and said I do have fibroids but they were not overly large for a women my age. As I understand it: most women that go through menopause seem to have enlarged fibroids. My Mother had cancer of the uterus but did not die of it. She died at age 42 of cancer of the pancreas. I need as much information about this from others who have IC. Most Doctors don't think about the two together. I've been given many meds and fibers that hurt me badly. I don't hold them to blame as there is no way they can know what is going to push that pain button. Thank you in advance for any info you can give to me. Hugs, Ziggy

Fibroids usually shrink as we get older. It may be that what you're experiencing this week is a flare that has nothing to do with the fibroids. My suggestion would be to ask your gyn about this.
