reaction to fragrances
Do any of you notice that wearing perfume causes you to flare? I read somewhere that fragrances can cause a flare & wonder how many are sensitive to perfumes. Thanks.

I haven't been able to wear store bought perfume since late '80's. It always makes me sick with a headache. I've been buying perfume through a company that makes it with all natural stuff. Haven't noticed them bothering the bladder but I have noticed where some of the old "natural ones" wore before the IC I can't now becuase they make me sick. Maybe because in a way it reminds me of the beginning when the IC happened?

I think Barbara Shorter who works with Dr. Moldwin was going to look into that. I can't stand perfumes, colonges, and FORGET the people at the malls and stores who aim to shoot before you can make your getaway!!!
My daughter also reacts with her ezcema.........we want to make a t-shirt or hat up that says something to discourage the eager sales people from "attacking" us. Any clever ideas??? ;-)Hugs, Julie B

They must do that spraying thing only in the big cities. I've never seen or had anyone come at me with a perfume bottle. '
How about two Dirty Harry saying?:
Do you feel lucky punk? Well, do ya'? Or how about "Go ahead make my day". Or you could carry one of those little hand held fans and when they go to spray turn it on and blow it back to them.
There was a person I used to ride with long ago. They put on so much hair spray and perfume I had to ride with my head out the window. Even in 20 degree weather.

We had a "big wig" once apond of time that wore way too much cologne and on top of that she smoke--so the combination was something else. As she got on/off the elevator or in/out the bathroom it would just trail with her. I am not sensitive to cologne/perfume but this was just bad.

Thanks for replies. It's not only in large towns they spray with perfume. I live in a small town & if you go to the mall you have to be on guard or you will get sprayed. I hold up my hand & rudely say "do not spray me". I think that would be grounds for a store being sued. If they spray you, fall to the floor & make a big fuss drawing attention. That should stop it.
