    Medical Marijuana

I am wondering if anyone has tried marijuana for pain relief? I live in a state where medical marijuana is legal but don't know any drs who prescribe it or anybody who has used it. My gyno (who treats my IC) actually asked me about it.

    Thanks,

    Linda

Yes you can use it, it might help you. I dont like the stuff it makes me feel to weird, but I am a Medi-can Member, and I have used it for pain and it helps. I think eating it, or cooking with it makes your body feel more relaxed, but as for smoking it, I dont think that helps at all.

I used it. My pain specialist gave it to me. The approved drug version in Canada is called Cesamet. And it was WONDERFUL. My constant nausea went away in 2 days. I stopped needing my pyridium. I only used my B&O sups for pain relief once a week instead of 3 to 4 times a weeks. I was a new woman. Until 6 weeks into therapy I started vomiting and couldn't stop. It seriously affected my kidneys. Damaged them you might say. So pot is a wonderful therapy for those in pain but I would be very careful on it.

I have used it as well, it is legal in CA. I used the pill form called Marinol also for horrid nauseas and vomiting. It helped somewhat but wasn't all that great. My pain doc said he would never ever tell a patient to smoke it because of the damage it does to the lungs.
My husband used it all the time for DDD back pain and muscle spasms. He hates pills and will not take them but found the pot helpful. He got it from a doctor and everything and one time his friend who had a prescription was pulled over with it in the car, not using it but just had it, and the cop arrested him and pressed charges. Well the court sited the COP for harrasment b/c the person had a legal prescription and was not under the influence driving. Their case went all the way up the court system in CA and our friend won every single time. So CA is prepared to protect people with this law.

It looks like it is going to pass in Michigan--the exit poll has two thirds of the people saying they voted yes.
