Question IC Friendly Gyno in Dayton, OH

Anyone live in or around Dayton Ohio and know a good IC Friendly Gyno?

I don't have insurance, but a friend is going to help me pay out of pocket for a good doctor. The one I see at the Womans clinic at MVH is OK, but he always has me in and out. I need someone who will work my IC and other girly problems.

    Thanks in advance

I missed this post and just now found it so I apologize for taking so long to respond. I'm in the Dayton area. I don't know any good gynos who treat IC around here, but do know some decent urologists. Please send me a PM if you'd like that info.

    Hi
I am not in your part of the country so I don't have any drs to recommend. Just wanted to say that my gyn is my IC dr and I wouldn't trade him for the world...as I also have PFD, Vulvar Vestiubulitis, and Vulvodynia and much prefer being treated for all of those plus my IC by my gyn. I've yet to meet a uro that I click with. Best wishes to you on your gyn search...many of them ARE becoming more knowledgeable about IC and its related conditions and how to treat them. My gyn's office has pamphlets on IC and Elmiron in the waiting room, and also Elmiron printed on the paper that covers the exam table...so the pharm reps ARE getting the word out to gyns, it seems, regarding IC. I assume you are already dxd w/ IC? You can always just get out the phone book and start calling gyns, ask for the doctor (NOT the nurse or NP, etc.) to call you back, and ask them if they are familiar with IC and if they have any IC patients and if they are interested in treating one. If a doctor even bothers to call you back, that is at least one good sign.Best wishes,Bri
