Bleeding/cramping from IC flare?
Hey ladies I need to catch up with posts but wanted to ask for prayers from you all. I started having some spotting last night and today it's cramping. I see my dr tomorrow morning and I'm pretty sure it's my IC but I'm not sure why that would cause bleeding. I had slight spotting last time I flared but this time it's more. It's really hard to tell if I'm contracting or cramping from the bladder pain and of course why it makes me bleed I have no idea but I'm guessing because of how inflammed my bladder is and since it's right next to my uterus that it's somehow causing issues. I know we are all unique in our experiences but just wondering if anyone else here has had this happen when they flare from IC??? On top of that all I've had a very stressful week and I probably need to just sit down and cry for an hour. We started my brother in therapy again and he's admitted to us that he's been smoking pot since 8th grade so it's been a very emotional time talking to him about this and other issues as well as I've been taking care of my great-grandmother this week while my grandfather is out of town and Friday we are supposed to leave for San Diego to visit my uncle and I just found out he has colon cancer. My other grandmother called me at work this morning and was crying on the phone to me about it and I feel like saying listen I can't take all of this right now!! That makes me feel awful but do you ever feel like there's just too much going on around you and you have no time to have anything wrong with yourself? I feel like I don't have the time to deal with bleeding, cramping pain right now but of course it is nothing to mess around with if I'm having preterm labor or something. Thanks for the prayers and for listening ladies! And please if any of you have had this can you shed some light?
Symptoms: Increased pain with activity (especially lower leg work and bending over); stabbing urethral pain, menstrual cramp pain, cannot wear tight pants, feel worse during spring/summer allergy season. The combo of things that brought me out of remission were artificial sweetners, liquid vitamins with citric acid, tight pants, lower body workouts and stopping all my allergy meds cold turkey during height of allergy season. I wish I knew back then what I know now about IC
First IC symptoms Spring of 2000; In-office cystoscopy 2002 -negative; Remission until 2007 (yeah!!); Negative PST spring of 2007

Saying
for you.
Please try to get some rest. If at all possible, get into bed and elevate your knees with a pillow. I know that you are seeing your doctor tomorrow, but it might be a good idea to call the office and talk with someone about this. They might want to you come in this afternoon. (((Hugs)))Sharon

They should get you in right away for an u/s to make sure your little girl is okay. If they say no....demand it. Spotting during pg is nothing to mess around with. Could be caused by so many things....many of which are perfectly harmless.
Did you have sex recently? I know a lot of women who spot sometimes even 3 days after having sex with their hubbies. Also some women spot after a stubborn bowel movement.
If I remember correctly you are pretty far long....but could be be placenta previa (where the placenta falls over the cervix opening)? That could cause bleeding as well.
Hope they get it figured out. Hon, you need to take care of yourself and your little one. With all that you are going through it is unfair for your family to completely dump all their emotional baggage on you. Go for a walk by yourself, get a pedicure anything to take your mind off your troubles and have some alone time. Sounds like you need it. Hang in there.

I hope you have called your doctor back. Please take care of yourself. I know it's hard with everything going on and as women we are such helpers. But, only do what you truly have to do in regards to your family.
Remember to keep drinking water, when I get busy like you obviously are, one of the first things I notice is that I am not drinking my water as much.
Hugs and Prayers!
Please keep us posted!

I DEFINATELY think you need to call your Dr NOW! Bleeding and cramping anytime durning pregnancy is a cause for alarm and emergent situations need to be ruled out. PLEASE call your Dr. NOW and stay in bed until you get orders from your Dr to do otherwise. Let us know what happens.

Sorry it's taken me so long to write an update. I ended up going to the hospital after posting last week and getting monitored. I'm having a lot of contractions but my cervix is still closed and long. The bleeding appears to have been from a polyp that is harmless but my dr is being cautious and so I'm on "pelvic rest" and taking it easy as much as possible which makes it hard to even get on the laptop much. I had some more pretty intense contractions Friday night and then again last night and tonight again too. I don't want to rush to the dr quite yet but the pain in my lower back and down low is accompanied by what feels like a constant Braxton Hicks contraction that never lets up. So it's difficult for me to "time" or count how many I'm having because it seems to come on and be constant for several hours. Everytime I see my dr. I ask him if this is the IC and inflammation in my bladder stirring things up. Each time he said he thinks it's a long shot that it would be causing my uterus to contract so I just don't know what to think.

I had 2 premature babies . With my middle daughter , labor started right before 6 months of my pregnancy . W/ my last daughter labor started at 4 months !I was put on turbutaline ( spelling ?) 3 x's a day for my entire pregnancies to stop the contractions . I had spotting and contractions all the time , but I was also dialating and was put on immediate bed rest w both pregnancies . Also w my last daughter I had placenta previa , which caused me to bleed . Thank God that all has been ruled out in your case !!! But I have some tips for you that sometimes helps the braxton hick contractions . Drink lots of water !!! dehydration can cause contractions . Also I was told to lay on my left side and drink water until everything calms down . You might want to consider ( if its possible ) to take leave from work until your lil girl is born . I know its not easy laying around , but its well worth it , if it can help you and your baby . Im sorry so many stressful things are going on in your life , it seems like everything always happens at the same time ! But alot of stress can trigger all kinds of things when your pregnant and I know that its near impossible not to worry about everything that is going on but you need to take time for yourself so that you and baby are ok . Alot easier said then done , I wish you the best of luck !!!
Ps if you are taking lamaze classes the breathing techniques that they teach you really do help w calming you down , its worth a try ! (((hugs ))) Please take care !!

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Lauren I feel like all I do is chug water all day long but I do think it helps. I have a 64 ounce insulated mug and I fill it 4 times a day at least (sometimes 5). The problem is if I forget my mug at home than I don't drink as much because the water has to be ice cold and through a straw in order to get enough down. I was excited when they gave me another mug when I was getting checked at the hospital the other day! I love these mugs but I've only seen them sold at Weight Watchers and given out at the hospital.
