    Vitamin B12

Does anyone know if the sublingual vitamin b12 causes any problems with IC?
I take metformin for PCOS and have recently learned that can cause b12 deficiency and would like to try the b12 drops. Just wondering if anyone has experience with this.

I was not able to tolerate them. My doctor ordered shots and they flare my bladder (my bladder is super sensitive though) briefly for the rest of that day but so much better than the sublingual. So there are other options. Stacy

I got iron shots for awhile . I had my Rn friends give them to me. My insurance would not pay the 30 office bill for the injection. A couple of times I had to give my own shots. Even after being an RN for now 25 years it was tough to give your own shots. It made me realize what diabetics how they have to do self injections. Vicky

B12 increased my urination. I stuck with it for a while because my B12 was pretty low, but as soon as I got it up a bit, I quit due to the bladder issue.
Doing well on: IC diet, prelief before every meal, recently discovered enablex made me worse

I think it depends on what kind of B12 you are using. If you are artificial sweetener sensitive... then you should read labels and find one that is made with one you can tolerate. B12 in general doesn't bother my bladder. I became B12 deficient and had to be on injections every 2 weeks for a few months. It was painless, easy to do, and an instant B12 booster. I didn't have to worry about finding a sublingual one that works with my bladder either. You might want to consider a monthly injection if you are really concerned (ask your doctor because it comes as a prescription and you dont' want too much... they would likely want to check your B12 levels in your blood before injections start). I think the B12 I use are these little red dots that I bought from Walmart. They are not overly sweet (so they don't taste the candy like some brands). So... since they are not sweet, they seem to have less artificial sweeteners in it.

    Hope this helped!
