    Post What prelief actually does....

The ads for it make it sound like it not only reduces acid in foods, but reduces frequency and urgency in and of itself. Is it that it only stops freq/urg because it reduces acid which reduces irritation to the bladder? Thanks, much love, Subarusue

    Dear Subarusue:

Acid foods trigger the bladder. Prelief neutralizes the acid in acidic foods and beverages (so that they do not irritate the bladder). Prelief is not a drug; it works on the food, not on you.

Using Prelief for me is to make foods less acid. It really doesn't stop or help with frequency but it does help the terrible
burning . If I tried tomatoe sauce or any
acid food without it I would burn like crazy.
Hope you are having a pain free day.

Prelief doesn't work for everyone however.
I've tried it numerous times with different acidic foods, both capsules and powder. I tried it with a little spaghetti sauce last night and today I am having one of my worst flares ever. It did seem to work somewhat previously, and perhaps my IC is progressing, but Prelief just doesn't cut the mustard with me.

    Hi!
Just wanted everyone to know that the recommended dosage for Prelief is 2 tablets with every meal, snack or beverage. If it is a very acidic meal, take 4 tablets. Tolerance to food varies greatly as does the acid content of food, so you may need more than the recommended amount. Be sure to use enough. (Of course),no one product is guaranteed 100% for everybody, all the time, but I sure do hear from so-ooooo many IC patients who are using Prelief successfully.
