    Cookbooks?

Is there an IC safe cookbook anyone would recommend? I'm really struggling with meals. I've added some things back into my diet, but I'm scared to add too much. At the same time, I'm dropping a lot of weight and don't have as much energy as I used to. I do eat, but not much since I'm sick of all the same bland stuff. Here is an example of my normal menu.

Breakfast: Oatmeal w/brown sugar in it or organic cereal with skim milk or plain bagel w/cream cheese

Lunch: Usually left over meat from dinner in a pita or with baked potato, or toast or oatmeal again or pasta with parmesan cheese or plain bagel w/cream cheese.

Dinner: A meat in a pita or with plain pasta and a veggie (usually broccoli)

Snacks: Plain potato chips or homemade cupcakes/cookies

I've also had eggs, home made pancakes and pure maple syrup. It's lunch and dinner that I'm having the hardest time with.

I bought the Taste of the Goodlife cookbook from the ICN shop. It was definatly worth every penny! It has many great recipes plus it also has alot of information about IC. I think there is also another IC cookbook in the icn shop but Im not sure. I was tired of eating everything bland plus Im horrible at cooking but that book really gave me some great options for meals that were easy enough that I could cook them and it also gives you ideas about how to use substitutes.

I am struggling with the diet too.

I finally bit the bullet and bought the only cookbook out there, A Taste of the Good Life. It does have great info in it and it gives you a push in the right direction. As far as the recipes in it... there aren't as many as I thought there would be. But as I said - you'll get some ideas of things to try. For instance, I couldn't eat popcorn because I would flare with the micro bags. The book suggested that you pop your own the old fashioned way. I have yet to try it but I'm hopeful. Hang in there. Unfortunately, its so different for everyone its all trial and error.

I agree w/ Lizzy1010. I bought the book a little over a year ago & was disappointed by the recipe selection. However, the info. included is invaluable. To me, the book was worth every penny! And like she said, it gives you ideas & makes you a little braver about trying new things.
