New Years Eve
tonight is new years eve, I'm still sick with bronchits. I'm just feeling kinda bummed.... im 21 and should be out drinking and having a blast. Well i wont be, i'll be home being bored. I'm on antibiotics so i cant even have a little wine. What a way to start the new year huh? Well at least my bf jamen will stay home with me. He doesn't really want to go out and deal with drunk a**holes at a bar... so we will be together. At least I get a new years kiss!!! lol
Does anyone have plans for new years eve?***Rachel***

We have never gone out drinking on New Years Eve --- we used to go to all night square dances; we would dance until midnight, then have a breakfast buffet at the square dance hall. Since my Terry had back surgery and we had to stop that activity, we usually just either play games or watch a movie and have maybe one small glass of wine to greet the new year.

I am sorry that you aren't feeling well. My younger son (he's 21, but doesn't drink) has bronchitis as well (diagnosed Friday). He was planning on going to his favorite gaming place (he is a video game geek..but a cute one!) with all of his friends, but so far, his fever hasn't gone below 101, so it looks like he will be staying at home. He was adament Saturday that he was still going to go, but he hasn't left the house since he got home from the doctor's office, so even though he is as stubborn as they come, I don't think it will take much to convince him he needs to stay home.
I have never been in the drinking party scene either. We always have game night with some other couples on New Years Eve. I guess young people consider that boring, but I have only went to one party in my life (a Mardi Gras Party) where alcohol was served and we finally left after I watched people doing things I know they wouldn't do normally. Also drinking alcohol is definitely supposed to be bad for your bladder and shouldn't be mixed with meds anyway.
Not that I am saying that all people that drink are alcholics, I know they are not, but I grew up with an alcoholic father and he was never fun, just went from his first drink and straight to mean which made a firm no alcohol person out of me, plus it's just so expensive.
I hope you feel better soon!
Happy New Year to everyone!

Rachel,
Its ok! I am not doing a darn thing either. Me and Jake are just going to stay in so we don't have to worry about the other guy on the roads. I know its dissapointing though. I will be thinking of you while I am plopped on the couch! Hugs!

Hubby and I are going to dinner with several other couples tonight. Then it is home for us and off the roads. I usually don't stay up to welcome the new year in. I figure it will come whether I am up or not. Why be sleep deprived New Year's Day.
