Results from Cysto negative for IC,dx: Pelvic Pain Syndrome
Hello everyone.
Well, test says I don't have IC. Uro says Pelvic Pain Syndrome. All my pain is urethal and sometimes clitoral. 4 weeks ago my pain level was a 10 but now it can be as low as a 5. While under for the Cysto. , she also did Trigger Point injections in my left and right Levitar Ani muscles. She said they were really tight and tender. When she examined them last month I almost jumped off the table in crazy pain. This explains the pain I feel in the very begining of intercourse. It has only been 2 weeks since these injections and I have not had sex yet since. (scared maybe?)My husband is very understanding on this.
My mornings are still uncomfortable, but managable. I have finally learned how to relax with the pain. Before I would just freak out and cry.
Uro says to stay on the Elavil, ( I am really new to this medicine, and think it is helping) Macro Datin, and I was percribed a medicine a little stronger than Cystospaz called Levsin. The dry mouth thing doesn't even bother me anymore. And Pyridium when needed. Getting use to orange underwear also!
I think I am going to try the IC diet anyway. And from now on I am only going to drink water. I am still going to visit this site, because it is full of wonderful people and positive and comforting advice.
Thanks so much for everything!

Hi Tracie,
I am glad to hear that you are feeling a little better. It sounds like the symptoms and treatments for Pelvic Pain Syndrome are very similar to the symptoms and treatments for IC so I am glad that you are going to continue to join us on this network. Since the diagnostic tools for IC are far from perfect there is probably a thin/fuzzy line between diagnosing someone with IC vs. Pelvic Pain Syndrome. As a matter of fact, many doctors believe that the term IC should be changed to Painful Bladder Syndrome because there is not a single known cause for the condition. All that being said, it sounds like very good news to hear that your bladder looks to be in good condition. So I am very glad to hear that your bladder looks good and I hope that you continue to feel even better and that you continue to join us here to discuss our symptoms and treatments. Wishing you well...LindaSudden onset of UTI like symtoms on Dec 27, 2006.
Diagnosed with IC on March 12, 2007.
Current Meds: 50mg Elavil
