Wow! Big fire near office and house

Well, here I was sitting at work minding the ICN when I heard several sirens go by the office. Looked out the window... fire engines. Looked out the other window towards my house.... see fire racing across the hillside.

Ran out of the office... called home to warn the family... drove him with a fleet of fire engines going in the same directions. Got closer.... uhhh... ohhhh!!! My adrenaline started popping! Big fire... moving fast. Flames very high... and about 1/4 mile from my house.. an easy five minute walk. This was the closest fire thirty years... Luckily, the window was blowing it north east instead of east... otherwise we could have been toast.

So, we all watched the CDF spotter plane, three fire bombers and an amazingly nimble helicopter fight the fire for two hours. It's controlled now... so I'm back at work but I can see it smoldering up in a ridge of oak trees (again much close to the house for comfort) so we're hoping that it won't rekindle this afternoon with the wind.

In any case... it's been a heck of a day so far and it's not even 2:30PM.

Oh My Goodness......I know you had to be totally scared. I am so glad that you all are o.k. How scary!!! Did any body else get hurt? Will keep all of you all in my prayers
