    Anyone had acne?

I have been suffering with acne for a few weeks now and I am just wondering if this is a side effect of the elmiron I am taking. Can anyone help?

It's not a side effect I have heard anyone mention.

I believe it causes acne for me as well. I get a lot up on my hairline in the temple area. Never had a zit there until Elmiron. I have always had an extremely clear face. The only thing I can attribute the acne to is Elmiron.

I have acne too and am not quite sure as to why. I am also on Elmiron but, I am as well on a lot of other meds. I have really started to notice the acne more since I have been having steriod instills. It isn't like huge acne but, its like tiny acne almost like an allerigic reaction to something. I too have it along my hairline, cheeks, and chest. I have been using Proactiv which seems to be helping but, if yous top using it, it will come right back. So, I have an appt. with a local dermatologist to take a look. We will see what happens. I would suggest the Proactiv though-it does work but, you must use it as directed. Morning and night and don't skip a day or it will make the acne worse. As long as you use it right, it will help for stubborn acne.

I have had it even as an adult. I have to take Accutane to control it. I have had 3 rounds of accutane all together. Most doctors won't let you do that but mine were so spread apart. My first round at age 16, my second was just a mini, 2 month round at 19 right before I got married ( had to have nice wedding pictures!) and my third round at 27. The last one seems to have done the trick, and the elmiron did not bring it back.

I have it too. I am off Elmiron now and it never was a trigger for me. I have trouble when I am stressed or have too much sugar!

    acne

Yes. I think the tiny acne bumps are from the elmiron. I head weird small bumps on my forehead before elmiron- I think from my intestine being affected or the IC. Over 25 years of bad acne. Accutane almost killed my twin and me and was causative I think in starting my IC. The elmiron seems to make my face oily.
