Hi, Flowerchild and Debbie! So glad you both are from N.C. For the moment I have my ic under control. What I am taking is 30 mg.Allegra in the morning, 5 Algonot during day and Zantac at night. I take Trillisate for pain and Ditropan XL for urgency when I need them. My doctor is in Raleigh and is a gyn, Dr. John Marks. He is wonderful!!!! He is willing to help me experiment with what I need for ic. I follow the ic diet religiously. Hope this helps and that you both are doing well. Let's keep in touch! Many Blessings to you both. Hi girls! This is great to have some IC buds near by! I wish NC was listed in the providers directory for IC doctors. I'm not sure who, if any ,actually specializes in IC around here. Do you? Let's stay in touch... grouphug Flowerchild

Hi you'all, WRAL tv in Raleigh did a segment on ic Jan. 27, 2003 on the 5:30PM NEWS. I have emailed the television station to find out if they know of any doctors in the Raleigh area who treat IC. I'll let you know. Hope I find one. Hope you'all had a good day today. Fields grouphug

Hi,Flowerchild! I called WRAL and sent an email. I'm having trouble with their responding. I do hope I'll hear from them. Just wanted to let you know the ICA (Interstitial Cystitis Association) has a list of ic doctors. They listed some doctors in North Carolina. How serious is your case? There's a lot you can do to help yourself while waiting to get medical care. The ic diet can help a lot. With burning urine, 1 tsp. baking soda in water can help but don't do this more than twice a day. TUMS are also helpful. Sqatting exercises can help with urgency. Bufferin may be helpful for pain. There are products in the icn shoppe you could try. Don't get discouraged it's a process of finding out what works for you. A medical diary is helpful. Hugs and Encouragement to You, Fields kissing

Dr. Robert Evans in Greensboro is considered to be "one of the best" IC specialist in the country. My wife has been going to him for several years. In fact, we are going to one of his seminars tonight on a new clinical test coming up.

I can confirm SSinNC's reply re: the doc in Greensboro. I had my uro appt today and he is sending me to Dr. Evans. My uro also said he was "The" IC expert on the entire east coast and one of a few in the country. It's an hour drive from here so I am fortunate he is that close to me. Wow, I feel there's hope.
