    Hi Javone
Stress is a biggie for me too. also, if I have a cold or something and my immune sysem is down that can make me flare too. finding triggers is so hard! Im stil trying to pin mine down. good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

I agree with the rest - when I was in the beginnings of the diet, my diagnosis, just started my meds, stress could get me every time. Even if I really didn't think I was too stressed, it was annoying!! LOL Also, any foods maybe sneak in a preservative or additive your bladder didn't like??? That's how I discovered soy flour was a no no for me. I thought I was eating friendly bread, ha! Joke was on me, ugh.

Hope you feel better and FAST!! Are you keeping a pain/voiding diary? That always helped me at least narrow down what didn't cause it, because I wrote down EVERYTHING, and what time. My meds, my cycle day, if i was under a "known" stressor, - you name it I recorded it!! lol

I think preservatives being snuck in is what is doing it. Then again I may be stressed.....I'm starting my first relationship. but then again I may have a UTI but I am not sure how...I don't cath....and all I have had to drink in 2 months was milk and water. This is crazy. I write down in my food diary whenn I have not felt good but not when I went to the bathroom.

Hmmm, a new relationship is a stressor, even though it's a good thing, but even good things can be stress inducers, lol. And trust me - you don't have to cath to have a UTI!! I never have cathed and have had my fair share of them! If you think that could be it, I'd give my doc a call and maybe they can get you in for a urine test

    Javone,

Remember, too, that the IC diet list is just a guide. There might be things not on the list that bother you (like melon or pears or who knows?) There might also be things that you're not supposed to eat that seem to be fine (peanut butter for me.) It's all really individualized. I'm a newby on the diet, too. I guess all we can do is give it time!

I agree with Amy. The diet is a guide and there are things that I might be able to eat and you might not. That is the unique thing that sets IC off from other disease. Because each of our IC tends to be different from someone else the treatment and diet and different. Because of this not one med or treatment helps everyone. What works for me maybe would not work for you...Also if you have been following the diet maybe it is stress. Like the others stress is a huge factor for mine.
God grant me the serinity to withstand the days ahead!!!

Well, this is what bothers me on the ok list. Evian water, gerber pear juice, milk, eggs, turkey, cottage cheese, string cheese, pumpkin, yams, pears.

i also notice i can eat a food once.......but if i eat it 2 or more days in a row im in flare.

Javone77, Think in terms of possible allergies to milk. I seemed to be pain free when I did not use milk. Also, be sure your water is alkaline.

I can totally sympathize with you. I can't figure out what is bothering me either. I have added nothing back into my diet and I feel like I just keep eliminating things. The first couple weeks of the diet I noticed a big improvement and after that it seemed to get worse again. I only get a couple of good days here and there.

I hope we can both figure out what's going on soon and get better

On the "may be ok" list, unfortunately, less than half these foods are ok for me.
I really recommend eating only the "usually ok" list for 3-4 weeks, then adding in "may be ok" things one by one. I posted the list on the fridge & marked each thing as "ok for me", "NOT OK", "ok in small amounts".

On the "may be ok" list: I can eat (this list is shorter than what I can't)...
    bottled water (certain brands only)
lowacid decaf coffee made in the Toddymaker & diluted with milk
    small amounts of rice milk
    oatmeal
    health food store graham crackers
    whole wheat bread
    small amounts of canned parmesan
small amounts of CoolWhip (this makes no sense to me)
very small amounts of spinach as part of a meal, not alone
small amounts of blueberries as part of a meal, not alone
    brown raisins
    some caramel candies
    small amount of white chocolate
    cinnamon

I ONLY EAT THESE THINGS WHEN NOT FLARING. WHEN FLARING, I GRUMPILY GO BACK TO JUST THE "USUALLY OK" LIST.

I hope you find what is ok & not ok for you. This has really helped me & I rarely need painkillers because of it (and the other treatments listed below my name). In spite of the medicines though, without the diet, I'd be miserable 24/7 and would be very dependent on painkillers...

    Wishing you better days soon...
    Kadi
