Wow congrats everyone!! Tig, I do the same thing, on weigh in day at Curves, I weigh myself at home first - that way I know if my scale is right, lol. The crazy thing is that scale is well over 20 yrs old, and it's still right on the mark....it's the kind with the little dial to reset the scale to "0", I can't believe with all it's been through it's still accurate!! LMAO!!!

Tracey

Trace hope you are sitting down cuz your just going to die laughing.. better p first too..
My scale is about 40 plus years old.. on the top it says HEALTH-O-METER. I remember it being in my grandma's bathroom when I was a little girl.. When Grandma passed away I sked if I couldh have it. Every one thought I was insane wanting that old pink pathic scale...'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.'

Tracey, how do you like Curves? Do you just jump out of the circuit to use the restroom when you need to? I want to join but I am chicken since the last time I joined a gym I ended up not going often enough to pay for it because it was right after I was diagnosed........
Hugs, Julie B

re
OK I'm going to jump on in too, I hope nobody minds.
hopefully this will be able to keep me motivated, I normally like exercising but after I go a few day's without doing it I loose my rhythm of staying with it.
So here goes I started on the 3rd of April
starting weight was 151
current weight 148
and that is without changing my diet so far.
I do Denise Austin daily workout that comes on lifetime, I record it on my dvr so I can do it when my body feels up to it. I try to do it five day's a week. her show is a half hour long but hey it's allot cheeper then going to a gym or curves if you already get the lifetime channel.
Now is there a certain day a week we are weighing in?GOD, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

LOL, Tigger, you're right, glad I peed first!! I don't feel so bad now!! I remember getting that scale when I was a kid - get this - with S&H GreenStamps!!! At the GreenStamp store! I think it was on Grand River somewhere, LMAO!!!!
I just post in whatever thread, lol. I think we are weighing in on Fridays, right Bella?? Are we starting a new thread every Friday? So, I think whoever wants to can start it, what do you all think??
And yep Julie, I do just that!!
LOL I usually potty right before I work out and 99.9% of the time I am fine throughout the whole thing. I have discovered (I got my mom-in-law to join one by her somewhere in the Royal Oak vicinity I think) that they are so easy-going and friendly. I just love mine and the owner is fabulous. So helpful and understanding and they are really there to help you out in whatever way you need. My mom-in-law loves hers as well (she just turned 60 last Aug - yikes, I told again, please don't tell her!! LMAO!!) And, it's really easy on my bladder. Sounds crazy, but it is. I think it's because you set the pace - the recovery stations in between each machine on the circuit you can walk, jog, dance in place - it's up to you. And the machines work on hydrolics so, it's up to you how much the "weigh" and how much resistance you get by how fast or slow you go. I have been going faithfully for 7-8 weeks now, even though I joined last August, I ended up missing most of Nov and Dec, lol - it's amazing how much my strength has improved! I just started to really notice that. I used to be pooped right out by the second time around, now I do each machine at least 2 times each time around, it's amazing!! And it makes me pretty darn happy, knowing I am doing a good thing for my muscles, heart, digestive system and my bones!!! And maybe get a body that I really don't mind having in shorts!! LMAO!!!
Jump right on in Sparkle!!! Nobody minds one bit! Glad to have you
I know how you feel, I usually start out good and strong and motivated and then peeter out...but this thread has kept me going and gave me a goal to keep shooting for!!!!
Hugs,
Tracey

I didn't see this thread before. I've been trying to lose weight by writing down what I eat. I can eat more stuff than I think most ICers can eat, but sometimes I pay dearly for I don't know what. A few weeks ago I was 142. Now I'm 140. I just cout calories. When I'm in pain it its hard to diet. I go to Curves, and I walk my dog. I'd like to lose 10 to 15 pounds, but I don't know if I can do it. PV
42 years IC. 2013 tried liposome instillations at California Stem Cell TC and the pain I guess from the catheter was too much. I tried 3 times. I am going to stick with trying a few old medications for now - hyomax and try vaginal valium. I still think herbs are so much safer than drugs.(I took an overview course a few years ago.) But there is so much little research on herbal remedies for this complex disease and people in pain need help as soon as possible, therefore RX drugs are necessary. I myself was trying elmiron (after cystoprotek and aloe vera did not seem to coat the bladder for me) Back to herbs, if you think that your IC is caused by histamines and allergies, etc, there are many researched herbs and herb formulas for that type of thing so perhaps that may be a path for you. But since IC is so complex, those herbs may not help. Perhaps if you think you are getting infections, there may be herbs that could deal with chronic, drug resistance problems but you would need some professional guidence. I believe I keep inflammation down by taking cucurmin extract, and other anti-inflammatory herbs - there are many good ones. You SHOULD find some that agree with you and your medication protocol if possible.

Yep, I hear you PV, I too just started the basic watching the calories I was eating. That and moderate exercise is my plan, lol. I use the Sparkpeople.com site, and it helped me greatly to see what I was putting in my mouth - wow. I never realized that I was mindlessly eating so dang much!! Now I stay between 1200-1600 calories a day. Not perfect every day, but I am right on target more often than not!!
That's what I thought Bella!! And I totally agree, anyone can hop on in - no asking needed, lol. It's for anyone and everyone!!
Hugs,
Tracey
