Was diagnosed with pinguecula today!
I went to the eye doctor today because my eyes were getting more red and yellow in the corners than usuall. The Doc diagnosed me with pinguecula which is classified at a mailignant growth of the mucous membrane on the eye which could be caused from environment, dry eyes, or wearing contacts!
What do you know? Another mucous membrane of my body going bad. I am beting that this is related to IC. I know that meds can cause a dry eyes and stuff but I have always had very dry skin and dry eyes my whole life. I just dont think my bidy lubricates itself very well. Is their a magic lubrication pill out their? I do take omega vitamins.
He asked me not to wear contacts for a while. Maybe if I quit wearing contacts for a few months my IC would vanish. Wouldnt that be great!
Anyone else with IC have had IC irritation problems?[SIZE="1"][SIZE="2"]Please send all private messages to 5star@mchsi.com. I do not check my ICN mailbox much.

Allergies/Sensitivities:
Alcohol(big time!), Soft drinks. Foods dont bother me.
Current Supplements: None presently
Conventional medications!!!!!: Nuerontin, Hydroxyzine, Elmiron, Tramadol
Tried many other medications... will list later

I have very dry eyes and skin. I do wear contacts ( 3 years now) and have not yet had a problem with my eyes. They do get gritty and dry alot and feel horrid, but I hate wearing glasses!
I take omega 3's. supplements. I don't know if they help, but I take it anyways.~TRACEY~ Wife and Mother of three beautiful

Pinguecula
JJohnson79,
I think the same way. I wonder if people look at me and say "Is he on drugs?". Me eyes look bad because of this pinguecula. I have been through all the drugs Amytriptylin, Elmiron, Atarax, Pain killers. I do think they may have contributed to the way my eyes look. I have a landscape company and one of my crazy customers told me to keep my nose clean. He looked like the kind of guy that did grugs back in his day. I have never touched cocaine in my life. I kinda just laughed at him becuase I didnt know what to say. I didnt want to get into the whole spill on how IC has destroyed my life and now its effecting my eyes thing.
My eyes do burn as well when I am wearing my glasses. I too think it has to do when them getting more air which they are not used too because I was wearing my contacts from the moment I woke up to the moment I would go to sleep.[SIZE="1"][SIZE="2"]Please send all private messages to 5star@mchsi.com. Dean76,
This is a NON-malignant condition. I also read it can be due to UV exposure from the sun. I've also noticed my eyes feel drier than they used to (is it from the FMS or the IC or both?). Artificial tears/saline drops might help. What did the doc suggest? I hope he told you to wear sunglasses.
