Northwest GA...?
I thought this might be a way to find some local support for myself too, so is there anyone from my area out there?

I am from Douglasville Ga. Is there any active Ga support groups for IC?

My husband sees Dr. Proctor, and he most definitely has NOT told my husband that it's all in his head. He prescribes the usual treatments: elmeron, elavil, atarax, uromax, hydrodistention, and so forth. He has sent my husband to a PT, which is what we wanted. My husband definitely has pelvic floor spasms as one of his symptoms, but Dr. Proctor never said a hot bath was going to take care of it, or even that PT was going to take care of it. I'm sorry that you've had a lousy experience there, but I think anyone in that area should look into the support group Dr. Proctor runs and not dismiss it out of hand. Maybe I'll think differently down the road, but I've been around dismissive doctors, and Proctor so far had not been one of them.

Hi guys,
I live in Cartersville and Dr. Proctor is also my urologist. I've had very positive experiences with him so far. I first saw him in May of this year and he diagnosed my IC in June and has set me up on a treatment plan of Elmiron and Ditropan XL. He has also prescribed Lortab & Percocet for pain when I need them. I have not been to one of his support groups yet, but anytime I need to see him, the office is always very accomodating and he has never dismissed any of my symptoms as being "in my head". He is optimistic about treatment and is not a gloom & doom doctor, which is very important for a patient with a chronic condition such as IC. My IC is doing much better than it used to so I think the Elmiron is starting to kick in. So far so good...

Me Too
I live in Cumming and I also see Dr. Proctor. It is a distance to drive, so he usually lets me do my own thing. My Urogyn is in Lawrenceville, yes that's another trip... I am so far happy with my doc's at this time. I take Elmiron 200mg BID and instill another 200mg daily when I need a rescue or 200mg TID daily without the rescue, and by God I think it's starting to work, Oh and of course lots of water.

I live in Dalton, GA. I would love to know someone else that deals with soem of the same daily issues that I do. It would be nice to have someone to talk to that would REALLY understand my battles.

I live in Woodstock. Has anyone from our area gone to the IC support group at Emory in Cartersville? I have been debating on changing my uro doctor. The doctor I have now is nice and seems to be sympathetic, but I feel the combo of meds I am on now is not working to well. He is not prescribing anything for pain. I think I need to go to a pain management clinic. Has anyone in this area gone to a pain management clinic or to physical therapy for IC?
