Are you sure it's not yeast or bacterial vaginosis? You don't mention a discharge, so perhaps it's not BV, but sometimes I get yeast with little to no discharge. Just a thought. If you're sure it is not though, hmmm... have you been diagnosed with vulvodynia?

*Diagnosed with severe IC in 2004
*Also diagnosed with PFD, fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain, IBS, migraines, allergies/asthma, dermatographism
*Kept trying a million different treatments for all these things until I found what works, and I am doing okay these days with the help of a cocktail of medications and the InterStim, which was first placed in 2007. [I have had 2 revisions - one in 2010 when my battery died and had to be replaced, and one complete replacement (lead and generator) in 2012 after a fall on my stairs caused my lead to move.]
*Current meds include Atarax (50mg at night), Lyrica (150mg twice a day), Xanax (0.5mg at night and as needed), Zanaflex (4mg at night), hydrocodone (10/325, every 6 hours as needed), Advair, Nasonex, Singulair (10mg at night), oral contraceptives, home instills containing Elmiron and Marcaine (as often as I need to do them).

With me there was no initial discharge but the yeast as minimal as it was....was affecting me. It was also high up. I felt a deep itching but was soo irritated with burning on the outside. I finally went to the GYN and he took a look inside and sure enough the yeast was there.
Maybe you should have the dr take a look inside and do a culture if necessary. I am waiting for my culture results to see what yeast specifically it is. I seem to be resistant to some anti yeast meds.
BV would be painful and have an odor....
good luck...let us know how you make out

I have an app't w/my uro tomorrow, I have tons to go over w/him. I started having a bad flare yesterday, took 1/4 of a muscle relaxer and both the flare feeling and that itch went away. But I will be telling him about it. I'll let ya know how it goes. Thinkin I may need a new uro. Last time I went (6 mos ago) Told him some things and asked him about PFD, he just said, take your meds and we will see how u r in 6 months, well, I'm worse. (cranky too lol) If hes not gonna work w/me gonna have to find another.

I went today to the uro, with a LONG list, he called it a love letter as a joke, but the problem was, see, I feel I have a lot of things that coinside w/pfd eg. pushing when I urinate (did that just before all this started and not doing it as much now, trying darn hard to stop completely, just that end of going that gets me), and some other things, I brought all this up to him and he said he doesnt think I have it, but no exam! Wants me to drop one of my ditropans (I take 10 mg twice a day) I went through that in March and had so much frequency and just that darn urge and a feeling like a fingernail scratching my bladder, that I missed Easter mass. Went back on the second one and better in a few days. He spoke of putting stuff in my bladder, had to remind him of my screaming fit when they attempted to put a pediatric cath in for an attempted urodynamics (Not trying to scare anyone I just cannot have anything put in there, I just completely burn, lidocaine burns too so I just cannot have that), he tells me this puts him in a position that makes it hard to treat me, says lets try elavil, told him we tried that, stopped working and I gained 14 pounds in three months, I wont do it. I suggested atarax, he said that was his next idea, gave me a script and I am supposed to take that and ONE ditropan 10 (WE KNOW WHATS GONNA HAPPEN, same finger scratching the bladder feeling). Wants me to give it a month, if I cant handle it in two weeks I am going back to my second ditropan. The fact that back in March and today, I brought up pfd and my legit reasons, and he didnt check me, I need a new uro, the one I want tho isnt part of the hospital stuff my gp is part of so I really dont know if my HMO (BLECH) will cover it. Also, did the ol' pee in a cup thing, found white blood cells so sent it to the hospital for culture, only thing is takes a WEEK to get the results, w/my insurance according to the office, it has to be sent out, they cant do it there. (Rolling my eyes here but thats insurance!) Soooo, yea, I need a doc that will check me for pfd. I am so done w/all this. Boy, you should have seen me in my mood yesterday lol, kept my coworkers farrrrr awayyyyy lol.
Told him about the itching and his answer was lets see what the culture shows and hopefully something will show up so we can treat it. I've been getting worse w/flares since July (progressively worse) and had my pitty party yesterday so now its time to figure out what to do to get me better. Thanks guys!

((((((((Hugs))))))))))) I hope the atarax helps you it sure did help me after my body adjusted to the med and it went through my system it has helped alot with my burning pain . I don't have to rely so much on pyruiduim. Even though I was living on it before my antis kicked in for my uti and Kidney infection.

If you are taking antibiotics for the ear infection....don't forget to take lots of probiotics and maybe plain yogurt to help fight off the yeast.
let us know how you are feeling.
    take care,

Well to top it off, I called the uros office Wednesday of last week, to get an answer to a question I had called with on Monday, the gal says, didnt the nurse call you yesterday? I said nope, nurse comes on, "hi Dawn, you have an infection". GREAT now to top off the ear infection I have a uti! What do I do for an encore LOL!!!! She checked w/the uro and I am on TWO diff, antis. I would take probiotics, but I tried now foods brand and a trader joes brand, both really bothered my bladder, I did recently buy Puritans pride brand and havent tried it yet, w/how I have been feeling, I want to make sure I feel "decent" before I try something new. Everything had been making me flare till two days ago. I'll let u know how the probiotics are w/me when I am less chicken and done w/the antis. Thanks everyone for your help n suggestions (((HUGS)))
