Yucky Flare
Very grumpy today -- I am flaring big time, with both IC and fibro, and the IBS is threatening to start in as well
I am on MS-Contin, but this flare is cutting right through that, and I have no more breakthrough meds to take to help, so I'm just trying to "white-knuckle" it through the pain, use heat, and go about my daily activities to attempt to ignore my stupid bladder. I'm losing my appetite and everything... yuck. This move has just made me hate the medical system around here; I just hate how they leave you in pain and just don't care one bit about it...
I'm especially mad the flare is happening now because I have my second day in the neuro-oncology clinic with the resident and attending doc tomorrow and I'll pretty much be on my feet from 9 until whenever (often does not finish until 6 or 7 pm). THAT is going to be fun when I'm this sore, but at least I'll probably get it more in perspective when I start seeing people who have or have had brain tumors -- it could be worse, in other words.
Ok, enough whining -- I guess I just wanted to complain to someone other than Hubby, who is probably getting sick of my whining by now
I am going to attempt to vacuum the cat fur off the living room rug now and try to be productive.

Jen,
I'm sorry you are flaring so bad and that you are not able to get adequate pain control. That stinks. I also lose my appetite during flares. I also know what it is like to be on your feet all day with a flare. I hope September proves to be a much better month with the new uro and pain clinic.
Hugs,
Barb

Thanks for all the support, ladies
It helps to know others are going through/have gone through similar things.
Actually I think I'm going to go take a dip in our rec club's pool -- it's outdoor, so I'll get some fresh air, and the water is like 92 degrees in it from all the hot sun it has absorbed. I find doing a few stretches in warm water like that is very helpful for at least the fibro part of my flare!****

Sounds like a winning move. Our pool is about 88 degrees and it's soooo relaxing to just lay back and float!
Hope you're better tomorrow.

Hope you start feeling better soon, Jen! Being in pain like that is hard to deal with, especially when you have a lot going on. The pool sounds like a good idea.

I'm new here, over in England, where I can't sleep. If it's not the pain it's the pressure! I don't like to wake up my friends at three a.m. just because of the IC, so it can get a bit lonely at this time of night...
