Anniversary Trip
My husband and I just had our sixth wedding anniversary this past weekend. Every year we try to take a small trip to celebrate. THis year we went to a bigger city about an hour away, saw a minor league baseball game and stayed all night.
My IC cooperated for the most part. Had to take a few breaks from walking, but not too bad. It turned out to be a wonderful weekend, even if it was too short. I'm very thankful for my husband and his support and that I felt well on our trip. I'd been praying that God would just let me get through the trip.
Anyway, I just had to share. I know having IC stinks and you can't get away from it, but there are still good times to be had.

Thanks, guys. I know I (like many of us) tend to post when I'm not feeling well and need to feel support and love from others who understand. BUt, I wanted to post good news relating to IC as well. It was such a blessing to spend time with my husband and just hang out and enjoy the weekend. I'm glad my bladder cooperated!

Wonderful News
That is great news! My husband travels a lot for business as well as personal we like the getaways. I always accomony my husband on his travels, can't last more than about three days of activity before I am just too run down. We take trips usually once a month. Week after next off to Chicago for museums, I'm so excited. Always have the fear as at times the wheelchair is necessary but as long as we don't ride a plane for more than a few hours then it's okay for me. I can't make it home to Hawaii since the past couple of years and missed my son's high school graduation because of this IC but I recommend going or attempting to go places. Travel is great for me as it forves me to be focused and do what I won't normally do on just another day! PEACE and JOY

*Diagnosed with severe IC in 2004
*Also diagnosed with PFD, fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain, IBS, migraines, allergies/asthma, dermatographism
*Kept trying a million different treatments for all these things until I found what works, and I am doing okay these days with the help of a cocktail of medications and the InterStim, which was first placed in 2007. [I have had 2 revisions - one in 2010 when my battery died and had to be replaced, and one complete replacement (lead and generator) in 2012 after a fall on my stairs caused my lead to move.]
*Current meds include Atarax (50mg at night), Lyrica (150mg twice a day), Xanax (0.5mg at night and as needed), Zanaflex (4mg at night), hydrocodone (10/325, every 6 hours as needed), Advair, Nasonex, Singulair (10mg at night), oral contraceptives, home instills containing Elmiron and Marcaine (as often as I need to do them).
**I am not a medical authority nor do I offer definitive medical advice. I strongly encourage you to discuss your medical treatment with your personal medical care provider. Only they can, and should, give medical recommendations to you.
