Pomagranate Juice?
Ran across 100% pomagranate juice at Stop & Shop today, and was sooooo tempted to buy it, even tho it's expensive. It was "on ice" in the Produce section and looked very tempting. Poms are supposed to have such great properties to them. Are they IC safe?
Honestly, I've never in my life had a pomagranate! Can someone give me an idea of the taste? I loooooove cranberry juice, but of course can no longer indulge...was kinda' hoping this might take its place.
As I was about to put the $9.95 jar into my basket, my thought was "Gee, maybe I should check this out on the forum first." You guys are a wealth of information (for which I'm extremely grateful)!Tunia

I have never had pomegranate juice (at least not what I can remember).... However, I have had tons of fresh pomegranates. They are delicious, it's hard to describe the taste because it does not taste like any of the common fruit (definately not as bitter/sour as cranberry juice). I'd suggest that you try it with prelief... and I doubt that you will be dissapointed in the taste.

Papaya from a tree
I do love fresh papayas --- when we went to Hawaii, it was one of my favorites. I think it could be a problem for some ICers, but fortunately I can have it. I tried just a bite at first. I especially like the pink papaya.
YUM!

I am ok with the pom juice and the pom/blueberry mix. It is very sweet so I usually add some bottled water to it.

The pom.
Are we allowed to say the name of a juice brand that does not sell in the IC store?

Thank you all for your responses...think I'll try it (as an occasional "treat"). Having always loved fruit juices, I miss the tang of many of them, and would like to find an interesting one. Pear juice is a little dull for my taste.
ellienor, I found the pomagranate juice in the produce section of Stop & Shop. It was $9.95 for a quart, which I think is pretty expensive. The next time I'm at a warehouse store - we have BJ's in our area, which is comparable to Sam's Club - will look for it there. Surely it will be much less costly, if they have it.Tunia
