    just wondering??

I have never had sex before. But one day I want to have a child. Right now I don't have even a boyfriend, but I don't want to not ask these questions when it's time. I have ic and fibro, and I was wondering what are the chances I wan't be able to have sex or even babies? will intercourse hurt? If I do have endo, is their any way to control it without birth control? I might have endo, I feel I do...but might never get a dx.

    thanks,
    Kiyoka

I have endo and IC. The only way they could contol mine was by birth control. Sex is painful for me afterwards, but I have found a lubrication that really helps with everything. I was told by my doctors that I would never have kids. I am now four months into my first pregnancy. So anything is possible. Is there a reason why you have not had the procedure to diagnose the endo? Just curious. Hope everything works out for you.

One way to control endo without birth control is surgeries...unfortunatly it can mean a lot of them. Laproscopies have helped many people's endo. As you know I don't have fibro so I can't really speak to how it effects sex but I do think that it is possible to have sex and even enjoy it with multiple illnesses ...it may take effort and time, hope and experimentation but it is possible and expect that with your efforts you can have magical experiences as long as you get treatment and find some that help you.

On the subject of babies as far as I know the only thing you have in your way is endo which doesn't necessarly make it impossible. From what I read often if you have pain and such from endo you may still be fertile...and often having severe looking endo isn't quite as painful. That was how it was with me....it caused a lot of pain for me but by gyno felt that most likely I could have children as far as endo was concerned.

I think you should have hope....and research what is best for you. I hope for the very best for you dear friend!

The key to being able to have sex, or should I say enjoyable sex, with fibro/IC is to RELAX!!!! You have to take it slow and your partner has to be gentle. If something doesn't feel right, STOP! The kind of person you are with HAS to be understanding about what you are going through. If you are with the kind of guy who wants bed-bangin, chandalier-swingin, wakin-the-neighbors, kind of sex.....it's probably not going to work out very well! Not saying that kind of sex never happens, just not very often. At least not in my bedroom anyways...lol I have had to learn to really listen to what my body tells me. I have also had to teach my husband certain cue's just so he doesn't accidently hurt me. If there has been anything good that has come of having IC/Fibro, it's that my husband and I can communicate 100% in the bedroom. We have to or it just won't work! Hope I've been able to help!
