    beware the hidden culprits! (arrrghghghg!)

Well, this is a rough learning process. For the last two days, I've been following the diet religiously, but have had severe pain, frequency, urgency--you know, the usual flare. Couldn't figure it out, and started to feel kind of hopeless--like, if the diet doesn't work, why give up all these great foods? Then I came home from work and looked at the bottle of Nyquil, which I've taken the last two nights, and there it was: citric acid, alcohol, and a bunch of other stuff my poor bladder was screaming at me about. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Maybe we can start a list (or maybe there is one already?) of non-food items that can cause problems and should be avoided. I'm frustrated, but so glad to find out what caused this wicked pain.

    yep Nyquil

and anything else that has pseudoephedrine...........(sudafed) My doctor first suspected IC when I had my fall allergy attack and was taking Claritin D.........battery acid.............shredding my bladder...........

I think it is a good idea to post non-food things..............did you scout out the patient handbook?
