Yup, I can and thank god. Just enough to satisfy that sweet craving. Even better if frozen.

I've been ok with a couple of marshmellows now and then. I had discomfort from Rice Krispie Treats I made right after being DXed but would probably be ok with them now that I am better. A couple of months ago I bought a preservative-free cereal by Erewhon (The Original Crispy Brown Rice Whole Grain Cereal) and thought I might use that to make Rice Krispie Treats so I could avoid the preservatives and additives often found in crispy rice cereal. I forgot all about it. Your post brought this to mind so I pulled it out of the cupboard and I am going to make some and give it a try. Thanks!

Love my marshmallows, in fact bought a new bag yesterday at the grocery store, to keep upstairs on my nightstand .... for late night sweet attacks! LOL They started out as the only safe thing for me, but I have been able to add more stuff in, but I still love them, eat them like potato chips, lol. Even got my sweetie snacking on them when I do! I too had troubles with rice krispy treats in the beginning, but I think now I could eat them too, as I have been able to tolerate a few more cereals!!

    Hugs,
Tracey who now wants a marshmallow!

Yep, it's the rice krispies you have to watch out for more than the marshmallows. Cheerios give me the fits.

    S'mores

Well, you haven't truly lived until you've tried IC-friendly S'mores. I use my S'mores maker to roast marshmallows and put them between Hanes Pure Foods Honey Grahams with carob chips on them. Oh....what a treat!

Thanks! I made some w/ real rice cripsies last night and was up all night (darn BHT which I didn't see on the box when I got them....sneaky people put it way on the bottom under the vitamin area). So, got some organice stuff at Whole Foods and then organic marshmallows...they kinda freaked me out a bit (they were square...) so I used some regular mashmallows and some of these...a bit dry so I will add more next time but happy to eatsomething naughty.

I will have to try the smores....carob is so bitter, any recommendations onthat?

How about white chocolate? If you can tolerate white chocolate, I would think it would do the job.

    carob chips

I ordered the carob chips from the ICN shop. They are sweetened with some kind of malt, I think. Anyway, they taste really good to me and not bitter. I've never been able to find organic marshmallows and fortunately, the "Jet-Puff" brand do not bother me. It's so nice to have a normal treat now and then! I think I'll try the rice krispie treats next, made with the organic rice krispies.

Yep, I think in the beginning it was the BHT that got me with the rice krispy treats too, and the fact I pigged out on them, lol. But I am fine with good old Kraft Jet Puffed Marshmallows, thank goodness, lol, as I have no specialty stores to shop at where I live! LMAO! Haven't made them since, but might try again, as I am able now to eat some more cereals with no troubles, but, the treats are just soooo tempting....before I know it the half a pan is gone .....

    Hugs,
    Tracey

ok for a good sweet treat to eat with pears-take a bar of cream cheese, let soften blend with jar of marshmallow fluff until smooth. Dip your fruit in and presto an easy, light, sweet treat and usually ic friendly!!!! (good on top of ice cream too)
