Yes!!! I think it can be pretty common to be like that with IC. I sleep on pillows...I have a foam thing on my side of the bed....and still end up sleeping on my side. I usually bring pillows where ever I go to help when sitting too.
I do find that it helps some if I use a heading pad previous to sleep. I sure hope you feel better soon.

I noticed that Ditropan xl is giving me /among other very unpleasent side effects/, pain in my abdomen caused by lots of gas, I can described the pain as someone puting knifes in my lower abdomen, also last nite I have noticed dull lower back pain.
I have checked and this is what Ditropan do.

YES!!! Here too on the back pain (lower) and abdminal pain. I cannot sleep on my stomach at all!!! I sleep on my side with a pillow and like a 3/4 turn into the pillow. That's as close as I can get sleeping on my stomach. As for the my back, I LOVE my heating pad for that. And, pain meds for both. I've often described my abd pain as a feeling as though there's a heavy bowling ball sitting inside my lower abd....it's my inflammed bladder. It's very mild since having my IC under control.

I fall asleep best on my stomach. I feel crampy in other positions. Once I fall asleep I am fine....................

Linda,
I use Cataflam for anti-inflammatory. That works great for me.

Yes, I suffer sometimes from abdominal pain and back pain, but it's usually related to IC flares. When my bladder hurts both my lower back and lower abdomen hurt

Yes I also suffer from constant lower back pain with abdominal pain. I have also just started Ditropan XL and Noticed I had terrible cramps in my abdominal area. Things have gotten better with the abdominal pain but back pain forget it. Started period so it hurts like heck today. I was wondering why my back was just unbelievable yesterday. Well when I woke up this morning guess what? There it was that lovely monthly thing. I have THE WORST FLARES during my period. Hope you start feeling better.

I do have low back pain and tailbone pain. Most of my pain is inside, and lower. And, in between my legs.....

I have a lot of lower pelvic side pain and terrible back pain, but I also have sacralitits and 2 protruding diskx, and a broe tail bone, so I don't think my pain there accounts for IC. I find the heating pad very helpful. some people respond to ice as well.
