my pain started after spin classes
My journey w/ic started after participating in spin classes at my gym. after a week of spinnning , i couldn't sit down nor sleep. The dr said i was constipated and dismissed me from there. that was 5 years ago. I'm in pain severely at the moment , so i'll cut it short for now. i was just curious how others first came to have ic?.
wishing all well

I got IC the second period after I quit a birth control pill I'd been on for 10 years. It also started the 2nd day I took Wellbutrin (which I stopped IMMEDIATELY).
I suspect the bc pill connection more because I did get better when I went back on a pill and even better when I went back on the pill I'd been on before I got sick.
I did have 2 bladder surgeries as a child-2 x meatotomy & diletation...Kadi

Mine started right after I had a vagina hysterectomy. I was told after that that may have been the cause.

Mine started after the birth of my second child. Went into remission for awhile, then had a hysterecomy in 2000, been pretty much downhill ever since.

Mine started after a very stressful period in my life. To this day, when I feel stressed I get flare ups. Makes you want to take Xanax 24-7!

I"ve had mild symptoms my entire adult life, but my first really severe flare started after using a birth control sponge which caused an allergic reaction/vaginal and pelvic infection; my bladder set up a howl of protest in sympathy and is just now calming down after 8 months. Seems like we all have such sensitive bladders and it takes them waaaaaaaayyyy too long to recover from any sort of stress/insult.

Mine started about 4 yrs ago, when I was really stressed out about my job.
Although looking back - I think I have had it all my life. I have always went to the bathroom more than everybody - but I thought everyone did that
(until I started having severe symptoms).

Thanks for your replys. I guess its just one more thing I don't want to deal with. I am pretty stressed out this month and I suffer from chronic pain in the head and neck area. which that has taken a toll. The way my bladder is acting, its hard for me to sit down. I finally went to sleep last night for more than 1hour, thanks to the help of night quil. lol! I wish u all well. On monday i'm going straight to my dr and demanding answers and relief. Thanks again.
