My friend might have IC
Hi All. Not sure where to post this, but this seemed like the best place.
I was just talking to my best friend, who currently lives in Florida, and her doctor thinks she might have IC because she has pretty bad frequency and occassional lower back pain. He's already tried her on levaquin and pyridium, and mentioned day surgery, which I assume would be a cystoscopy. But since she's not in too much pain, it's just more of an annoyance, she's going to wait until she moves back here in a few months before doing anything since Healthcare is so much cheaper here. She said she doesn't think she's affected by foods at all, so that's not an issue.
I did give her this website and the IC handbook website, but can anyone suggest anything else?

Hmm, it could be endometriosis as well. Maybe you should suggest that she read up on that, as well as on Pelvic Floor Dysfunction.

That is good advise....endo and PFD can cause those symptoms. My biggest advise is trying the diet...if it helps it is more likely to be IC... Next take the PUF test
http://www.sworcare.com/IC%20survey.htm It can determine likelihood to IC. After that if it seems likely to be IC:
