    PT Treatments?

    Hi all,

First, along with other treatments, I have been seeing a physical therapist twice a week for the last 5 weeks. The main treatments that I have been receiving are trigger pointers release and using the vaginal EMG/stimulation. Have anyone used the vaginal EMG/stimulation sensor with the Pathway STM-10 device? If so, have you found any improvement and how long? I have been using it for the last 4 weeks and only seeing some temporary relief. Finally, what other types of PT treatments that you found significant relief for your symptoms? And usually how long do you begin to see improvement?

    As always, thanks!

Yes I used vaginal treatment and after about 5 weeks was able to test sex out again. Unfortunatly once I stop my excercises that goes away. I feel the need to see my therapist again so although it helped I do think it take more dissaplin than I have all by myself. I should add that it helped the pain in the front only. I hope that isn't too much bad news. I can't say weather it helped incontinence....I don't think that was the goal for that therapy.

    Thumbs up

Hi, I have been having physical therapy for the past three weeks, and biofeedback. I know for me personally, it has really been a huge help, and so far the low back pain I had, has gone, and I feel so much better. My physical therapy consists of different types of exercises for my pelvic floor dysfunction, we started with a few and add more each week. I am also back on the treadmill, and having success with that as well. I know my therapist said she will be treating me for quite a while, but it is really helping with everything in the pelvic region, also the frequency and urgency. I am so glad my urogynecologist recommended me for it. I am still on Elavil and Effexor XR, and Ultram when needed, but so far, touch wood, I am doing very well. Iris. :woohoo:

    Hi all,

Thanks for the reply! Iris, can you please tell me a little bit about biofeedback? How exactly is that done? And are you doing that during your PT? What other things have your PT been giving (trying) on you?

I don't feel like my therapist is giving me much of late. I have been seeing her for at least 10 sessions now and so far, she been mainly doing trigger point release and vaginal stimulation using the Pathway STM-10 device. Initially in the PT treatment, I was getting temporary relief, but have not felt any improvement of late. What are other type of PT treatments or exercises should I ask for? I felt like I have to be pro-active.

    Thanks!
