To Shennan and Others, Comments Please

Shennan, I noticed you had the same experience as I did with the heparin cocktail; unable to pee afterwards. I notice some of you hold it in for hours etc. I guess some people don't get these effects. I was thinking of holding it a half hour next time and seeing if this would eliminate that effect. I know we aren't doctors here, just wanting to know what you all think. All comments really appreciated a lot.

I am on my 6th treatment and I noticed that on my 5th one I had a terrible time passing my water for the first time. I discussed this w/ the nurse and she said that sometimes happens. She told me to try and relax w/ my legs open and then bend slightly like putting your elbows on my legs and then try and "go". She also told me that sometimes it is best to hold "the treatment" for 1 hour and then go, but it is best to hold it as long as I could w/o any discomfort.

Well I took her advice and waited 1 hour and tried to relax and it worked great. I pass my water just fine and I have had a great week. I hope this treatment is the one that gets me over my "hump".

    I hope my posting helps!

Rhonda and Since1868, you are so sweet and comforting. I was feeling a little sad about the side effects of the treatment. However, I am doing better now. IC usually gets me worst at night. Thanks for bringing hope. I think the Heparin is much better for me than the DMSO. It's all very individual.
