MY Aunt just dx'ed w/IC
Hello all,
Wanted to tell you that my Aunt was dx'ed with IC. As you know I have IC and so dose my Mom... she also has 2 cousins with it, now her sister..... hhhhhmmmm begining to sound a little genetic to me.... even tho they say it's not been proven.... She has her first DMSO on Tuesday.. I printed up paper work on it and took it to her.

Hey Brat... I'm so sorry to hear another family member has IC!!
I'm sending lots of luck to your aunt, and I hope the DMSOs work for her!

Jen
*Diagnosed with severe IC in 2004
*Also diagnosed with PFD, fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain, IBS, migraines, allergies/asthma, dermatographism
*Kept trying a million different treatments for all these things until I found what works, and I am doing okay these days with the help of a cocktail of medications and the InterStim, which was first placed in 2007. [I have had 2 revisions - one in 2010 when my battery died and had to be replaced, and one complete replacement (lead and generator) in 2012 after a fall on my stairs caused my lead to move.]
*Current meds include Atarax (50mg at night), Lyrica (150mg twice a day), Xanax (0.5mg at night and as needed), Zanaflex (4mg at night), hydrocodone (10/325, every 6 hours as needed), Advair, Nasonex, Singulair (10mg at night), oral contraceptives, home instills containing Elmiron and Marcaine (as often as I need to do them).
**I am not a medical authority nor do I offer definitive medical advice. I strongly encourage you to discuss your medical treatment with your personal medical care provider. Only they can, and should, give medical recommendations to you.

My 8 year old daughter came up to me and told me that after she goes to the bathroom it feel slike she still needs to go. I hope she does not get this IC stuff. It does not seem to bother her, so I am going tolet it go for awhile. She has some major dental work coming up.

I am very sorry to hear....makes me think there is definatly more than one kind of IC.....some of you have a very genetic form....while so many do not. I am so very sorry your family has this huge burdan.

I will mention my daughter's bladder on my next uro visit. I think she knows the location of every bathroom in Macomb county. I would hope she does not have IC.

Hey just now reading your post. My mother has a kidney disease called nephrities and my grandma always passes blood and protein in her urine but has no other symptoms of IC (mom also passes blood and the smae protien). I am not sure what it means but would be great if someone would research that maybe there is a way to turn it off!!!!
Holidays will be interesting, got any good recipes????
