I did not know where to post so I picked this thread. He is 51 years old and is in a nursing home. He had a small heart attack yesterday(mon.), but seems to be doing alright. He is in the nursing home because he had several small strokes and is a diabetic. THe strokes affected his brain and so I could not care for him anymore.
When it rains it pours!

Oh, Mel. You must be very strong. My husband is 12 years older than me and when people ask us about the age difference, my only worry is that something like that would happen to us, where I couldn't care for him and would have to have him live somewhere else.
I hope that you are able to visit him often and spend lots of time with him and that the staff are very caring and gentle. I know we often hear horror stories about nursing homes but there are many great ones. My friend used to work at one and he had to take an emotional break because he was getting burnt out. He really cared for all of his patients.
I hope your husband recovers from the heart attack easily. Is there a chance that he will be rehabilitated from the strokes?

Thanks all for you kind words and prayers. My husband is back in the nursing home and is doing as well as can be expected. He still has so many other things wrong with him. I told the cardioligist not to do any tests. The doctor put him on blood thinners and a heart medication.
