Well, I was getting completely fed up with all the peeing business and invasive instillations at the hospital. To cheer me up, I threw out all my underwear and went out and bought some very colourful ones with neat patterns. I figure if I have to look at these darn underwear soooo often during the day, they might as well cheer me up! You should see my jazzy strip pink ones! It puts a small smile back on my face!

Underwear is one place where I do splurge a little. It costs a little, but feels soooo good.

Yes, the Hanes are great! Maybe they want to sponser us! I think I will write them a letter this week. Perhaps others should, too. I really appreciate those nifty pink ones they designed. Very durable panties, too! "And Hanes, proud supporters of IC women everywhere. Although they have to pee a lot, at least they look stylish doing it! Ha, ha!

Hanes and Jockey have great cotton panties, I wear both kinds... and actually Victoria's Secret has great cotton ones now (5 for $19.99). I just bought some of those in funky patterns too :)

Hi all! This was a great post to read - kind of put a smile on my face. By the way - I have found great 100% cotton panties at old navy. They have a website - I think it's oldnavy.com They even carry bigger sizes for those of us who have gained some weight - I like them because they are trendy and lower cut in the waist - makes me feel young again (not that I'm all that old). They are pretty cheap too. I think you may even be able to buy 3 pairs for $6 - if you keep your eye on them. Some of them may be 3 pair for $9 - either way, it's a pretty good price.

Thanks for sharing the great ideas!

Thank you Twiggy for your Hanes post. I've recently been diagnosed with IC and the past 3 days have been really rough, physically and emotionally for me. I actually laughed out loud when I read your post. It's the first time I've smiled in several days and it just was great. Thanks for your healing humor!

I wear men's cotton boxer shorts under almost everything. Sears carries a brand that doesn't have the "seat" in the back. They're so comfortable and non-binding and they breathe. Why should only men be that comfortable? Been wearing them for years. My guy laughs but he thinks it's sexy.

For those who wear mens boxers, do you get plain white cotton ones or flannel or colored ones (dyes ok?)? Looking to get some and looking for vulvodynia and IC friendly materials!

July, is your name really July? Do you pronounce it Joo-lie or like Julie? I ask because MY name is July! I've never met another one! Anyway, about the boxers, I buy the colorful, fun poly/cotton blends and never have any trouble with them. Maybe because they're not right up against your skin so much. As long as my jeans aren't tight, the boxers kind of give me a little breathing room that I really like.
