I would really appricvaite it if anyone with UC or anyone who knows someone who has it would contact me. I have been having bad pain in my left side, a little blood in the diarrea, night fevers and sweats. What do you take for it? I have so many other problems. I have lost over 15 lbs. because I really don't have an appitite and everthing makes me feel so sick. Is there a special diet? Are there foods that are making me sick? I need help. My rheumatologist gave me Asocol. I have no idea whaty to do and I am overwhelmed by this mess I'm in right now. Has anyone gotton cancer from it and or had their colon removed? Will I have to? I know some of these questions you can't answer. I'm 25 and have a hubby I love with my heart and soul and three beautiful kids. I want to be here and want to get healthy as I can. Any suggestions who to see where to go? Anyways I am such a mess sometimes. I just want to be ok. Why can't it just be ok? Anyways I will call the doc tomorrow. I just wanted to ask here because I respect and so greatly appriciate all of your support, advice, and knowledge. Thanks - Chris

Chris,

I know how you feel. I am waiting fortesting for another set of problems, but the fear is the same. I have hubby and 2 kids you need me. I read a little about your condition, and I suggest that you see an gastro guy. It seems to be a chronic problem, and needs special treatment. As for the cancer part, you need to ask the doc. Maybe you have an infection or something that is doing the same thing. I can only suggest that you see a gastro asap. Good luck

Chris, contact me anytime....I had colitis as a child...colon has been removed because of it and now my Pouch has it.....I am on Asacol....what is your dosage? I am also on antibiotics. I have never been worried about getting cancer from it. Diet: aviod high fat, corn, high acid, and get plenty of fiber. I have had doctors from Mayo Clinic telling my home docs what to do with me. (((((((((((((((((huge hug)))))))))))))

I will help you anyway I can. I have been dealing the Inflammed bowl stuff for as long as my memory exsists.

This website is for IBS, but there is some information on Ulcerative Colitis as well. There are diet tips and recipes. I have heard that the lady who wrote it is really good, but I don't know about it for Ulcerative Colitis. Maybe Katrina will look at it and give it her seal of approval.

Chris, like Katrina, I have both IC and inflammatory bowel disease. A good web site for IBD information is http://www.ccfa.org. Contact me any time, if you have questions.

I also have IC and Colitis. I find the installations seem to be making me worse, colitis wise. No one can explain why, but the diarrhea is much worse and I just feel much worse while getting these installations.
