Hello again everyone!
I've been communicating with someone from the boards and she made me realize that I need to look into.
I also have ITP, (Idopathic thrombocytopenia Purpura) a platlet disorder that I was diagnosed with in 1993. I was only treated with steriods for a month then had the splectomy and have been healthy ever since! 11 years and going strong, my platlets have been anywere between 399,000-477,000.
However, I've been doing research on the web about Elmiron and Elavil, both have rare instances where this disorder can be contributed to both meds.
My first question is, are there any of you who have both ITP/IC? If so, I'd love to hear your story. Second of all, does anyone get your platlets checked, have you seen a decrease in your platlets?
Your information will be helpful. Just so you know, I have called my Hematologist and he confirmed that I should be ok on both meds since I've been in "remission" for 11 years but we will still check them again in December.
