I was diagnosed 2 months ago when my dr did a cystoscopy with hydrodistention under anesthesia, he also performed excision surgery for endometriosis and did a presacral neurectomy. I haven't been able to find a good urologist yet who actually wants to put a plan in order to get me better. I recently saw my PCP and he recommended somebody good for me and I have an appt with that dr. next Friday. My question is this, my husband and I would like to ttc soon because we don't know how much longer I'll be able to concieve giving the severity of my endo. But I know that I want to get this IC under control before we start because I have been in a constant flare since the cystoscopy. Can anyone here recommend a treatment I can do for the next month to six weeks that can make things better enough to last through pregnancy. I know that there is no guarantee, but isn't there instillations or something I can do before I get pregnant that can possible last a few months? Thanks for any advice.

my husband and I are also ttc and my uroligist suggested to do the elmiron through the catherter. She advised that also with the instills it doesn't take as long for treatment until you start to feel better. Its a once a week visit and you don't have to have to have an empty stomach like when you have to take the elmiron orally. You can do the instills yourself if you feel comfortable doing it, I myself have them do it. This way if you would become pregnant elmiron would not effect the baby since it is going right to your bladder. While you are pregnant you still have the instills.

It sucks that I've seen 2 urologists and they didn't know how to do any kind of treatment. I'm seeing a new one next Friday that my primary said was good, so I'll definantly ask him about this and then go ahead with ttc, I hate having to put that off because with my endo I don't know how much longer I'll be fertile. Thanks a bunch for responding. This truly has made my day.
